My ring keeps spinning round round baby round round like a record baby

Seriously now, it drives me bonkers! My engagement ring keeps spinning and the mount end up in the palm of my hand. Resize it, you will say. I have tried 3 times and I was talked out of it by every jeweller. Dialogue goes like that: hello, my ring is too large. -let me see...what size it is? -L lady takes out her big chain with rings on measure. Takes my finger puts it through L. It fits. She says indeed you are an L. Why is it spinning then? -you have skinny finger. -Downsize it then
Takes finger again, nope, you don t need resizing. The ring is an L, you are an L. Tried next size down it doesen't go past the knuckle. I tried different jeweller thinking their size is wrong. Nope, all the same. They say if i resize I won't get it past the knuckle. I can't wear it like that though is very uncomfortable. The other hand, fits perfectly. Just the left is the problem. I swear I can see the dent in my finger where is skinnier. Tried the plastic bits snuggies they are called. They turn dirty and nasty in a few days and are very uncomfortable. I asked about the metal thingies they don't do them anymore as it scratches the metal. I am so desperate I was thinking about getting a drop or 2 of clear sealant pn the inside of it but what if it affect the metal? Sorry for the essay but of anyone has any solution please post here, I adore my ring and want to wear it! Thank you!

I don’t know what a metal thingie is but sounds like you need 2 beads of metal put inside the band to stop it spinning rather than complete resizing. Is that what they don’t do anymore?
I’d be taking it to a jeweller and telling them what you want without discussion.

Kmo exactly. They don' t do it anymore nor would they recommend it. I am afraid if they are right though, what if I can't get it past the knuckle?

You could use some Sugru - I've used it to stop a ring moving before, albeit not one I wear daily. It's amazing for all sorts of things. If you don't need it in the future it will scrape off.

This is expensive solution... wear more rings, I.e stack you engagement, wedding (?) and an eternity ring. Individually they’ll fit over your knuckle but the rings grouped will be more snug on your finger.... and sparky too!
I’m only half joking 🙃

Thank you all, I love the stacking idea however it would take years to build or a lottery win! I think I will try with the mouldable glue first but if you have any other ideas please keep them coming!

Hey OP- take it to a jeweller and dont change the size but get your ring reshaped to be flat at the back of the shank.

This gives you the surface area to get it over the knuckle but stops it from swinging around- also doesn't change the appearance of the ring on your finger at all.

We dont really do the wee beads in the ring anymore as many find it uncomfortable and it doesnt make a massive difference anyway.

@TrollTheRespawnJeremy that is a brilliant suggestion! Why on earth dont jewellers do that with rings as a matter of course? It makes so much sense, at least for single stone rings, or half eternitry ones.
