What to wear in a family portrait?

Me and dd will be getting a portrait and I have no idea what to wear. It’s against a white backdrop. Does anyone have any advice? I tend to suit very bright colours but worry these with detract.

I would think a block of colour rather than a patterened / multicoloured outfit would look good.

It's usually advised to wear no busy patterns but otherwise bright colours are fine as long as you co-ordinate a bit colour-wise (neutrals often recommended but not necessary unless there are a lot of people in the photo and one or two are in bright red and pink!)

Wear something that won't date.
