Fenty Beauty - Anything Nice?

TokyoSushi · 10/05/2019 09:49

Fenty Beauty is available in 'larger Boots stores' and online fromtoday, I thought I might have a little treat...

Is anything particularly good? Or anything particularly not good?!

I want to know if anyone has tried the lip scrub thing - ProKiss. I haven't used one of these since I was about 15 but it does look nice.

TokyoSushi · 10/05/2019 17:22

Yes, it looks a bit like something I had from the Bodyshop in my teens!

Lots of nice shimmery bits in the range and loads of shades in the foundation too, hopefully somebody will be along soon to tell us what they think!

Hello following with interest. Has anyone tried the foundation or powder highlighters? I'm really lucky and have oily skin with dry patches, so all the problems. Few fine lines as well.

Alsohuman · 10/05/2019 17:47

The foundation is very nice, massive range of colours.

Moominfan · 10/05/2019 17:48

What's it like by the end of the day?

wizzywig · 10/05/2019 17:48

I bought the highlighter and gold powder. Really disappointed. couldnt blend it and my skin is oily.

MrsGrannyWeatherwax · 10/05/2019 17:55

The eyeliner is amazing as is the lipstick, not tried the new stuff yet

ElspethFlashman · 10/05/2019 18:10

Heard good things about the eyeliner and the foundation. Honestly I'm glad I'm on a make up ban, or I'd get wildly over excited.

The highlighters look waaaaay too Instagram for me though. Good in photos, robot-face in reality.

My DD was bending my ear when it was available in Liberty but we didn't get round to looking.

We were in Bolougne recently , there was a Sephora there , she got a lip gloss (about £16 or so ) , she rates it (and it's Cruelty Free) Smile

I am now being bullied into taking madam to a large Boots tomorrow .

FizzyPink · 10/05/2019 18:37

The foundation is absolutely fantastic. I’ve gone back to my usual L’Oréal after running out of Fenty and I think it looks terrible now after wearing Fenty for a few months.

TokyoSushi · 10/05/2019 20:37

Ooh this is good to hear! The Trafford Centre is our nearest stockist, I'll have to go and have a look!

I have the Matchstix trio and they're lovely!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 10/05/2019 21:20

I love the Mattemoiselle lipsticks. Candy Venom is a perfect hot pink, and I also have a red one which is called something along the lines of Ma Damn. Both are great. On the flip-side, I thought I would really like the liquid lipstick - I think the range name is Stunna Lip Paint - and actually hate it.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 11/05/2019 00:56

I'm probably about Rihanna's skin tone and was excited to try this, having spent my teens in Boots in the 90s where the darkest foundations were magnolia. But I don't love the foundation. The colour vaguely matched and looked ok until I took a flash photograph, £27 later, and looked horrendous with the flashback. So either the shade is wrong, which I would not expect if they're selling me £27 foundation, or it has a flashback problem which my £6.99 Maybelline foundation doesn't give me. I also don't find it blends very well, but I have pretty dry skin.

I like the primer though.

Jimjamjooney · 11/05/2019 07:27

Because of how many people wear this foundation for photos (Instagram etc.) I don't think it's a flashback problem. Is it too light or too dark? When it first came out people had problems with the shade darkening as it dried down (to what its true shade was apparently) and the colour being different. I have heard people with dry skin may struggle with the foundation too, I'm interested to try it!

Isleepinahedgefund · 11/05/2019 08:54

I didn’t like the matchsticks (formula too dry for me) or the foundation (dry skin).

I liked the primer but didn’t purchase it as I have others that cost less and do the job just as well.

I have the powder in the white compact and it does the job for a touch up during the day, I usually carry it with me. I won’t buy it again though and I’m mainly using it because it was so expensive! I have the brush that goes with it and it is handy on the go.

My favourite I’ve tried is the gloss bomb lip gloss, I love it and will repurchase when it’s finished.

Tbh based on what I’ve tried, I won’t buy anything else from fenty.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 11/05/2019 13:02

I don't know, Jim - I'm terrible at picking shades of foundation so trusted the MUA (who I waited ages to see) and she suggested 300 was my shade and I believed her. It doesn't look too pale generally (though I am mixing it with my darker Maybelline one, which is probably too dark, especially now I'm tanning a bit as summer approaches), but with a flash photo I look properly awful. I bought it in Feb/March with no tan and it was still bad. I'll finish this bottle but not buy another.

jay55 · 11/05/2019 13:07

The lip paint is amazingly pigmented but it transfers to teeth really easily.
