we are both going for the chop tomorrow, my dd might not suit a bob... she wants very short hair... is there somewhere on the internet I can look at children's hair cuts/styles for inspiration? I would like dd to look at some pics to say what she likes too...

suggestions welcome for me too... long and straggly with (ahem) silver highlights just now... will a crop show up my white hairs against the dark brown... not really sure what might be good, I don't think I suit a fringe...

have you a picture of yourself Aefondkiss ?
How old is dd ? I think really short hair can look really cute on girls - though unusual !

My DD has had her hair cut from half way down her back to her shoulders and even if I say so myself she looks very cute!

My dd1 has had very short hair twice. She liked it and it really suited her but the growing out is agony. Also, it caused hassle in the mornings as she had to completely wet it to get it to behave.

I will try and post a pic of me later if it isn't beyond me

dd is 6, did your dd have really short kind of boyish crop tooticky?

did you just lt the hairdresser get on with it?

Yes, it was very short. Quite elfin. I always said I would never be one of those mothers who insist on controlling their daughter's hair. Did have some misgivings, but hey, it grows back - if slowly!

My dd recently had her hair cut very short, sort of Mia Farrow-ish and it looks lovely; although yes, she does have to wet it in the mornings. She has been mistaken for a boy a couple of times though!

did you or your dd have an idea of the cut before she went janitebus? how old is your dd?

She'd gone on and on about it for about a year, before I gave in. She's 10. Now wants to die it pink so that you can tell she's a girl!

My dd1 is 10 and has just had hers cut short (pic on my profile but the wind has blown it the wrong way so it doesn't look too great!! ). she loves it though. Dd2 is 8 and had hers cut from middle of her back to a bob - I think it looks so much better than when it was long.

Aefondkiss · 18/07/2007 21:21

dd is moving towards having a short bob now... I just don't want it to be too severe looking, if that makes sense... well I have had no time to upload a pic of me, but I will go and see what happens tmrw, I hate getting my hair cut.......

oooh Jan your dd's hair sounds great... how do you feel about pink?

ikwym about shorter hair looking better miaou... dd has very straggly long hair with a bit of curlyness, looks okay aslong as it has been tied back....
