Best quality cheap brand

What do you think is the best quality 'cheap' brand? Or do you think they're all hit and miss? Is there one that's, for the money, good quality (I know you have to pay more for the best quality, but imagine your budget doesn't stretch to that).

When I say cheap I'm thinking M&S prices and down Next/Apricot/Primark/Matalan/New Look/H&M/supermarkets etc.

I've found TU from Sainsbury's to be good quality for basics.

New Look is always rubbish ime.

I used to love New Look a few years ago (perhaps around 5 yrs) I have gone massively off it nowadays. Same with River Island, I find Zara really over-rate too, plus their fast fashion and 2 week turnaround on new stock is absolutely awful for the environment if you care about buying clothes with environmental awareness

For Jeans, I recently purchased the Primark shape ones (I can't remember the actual name but they're designed to shape and flatter your body) and I love them, they cut off just above the ankle which I look for in jeans, not too high-waisted and a nice skinny shape. Other than that though I always go to Topshop for my jeans, never had a bad pair from them

@NuffSaidSam Re length of the Uniqlo jumpers, they’re fairly short I suspect. I’m a short-waisted 5’4 and they hit hip level.

TK Max for knitwear and lovely shirts. Primark for vests, t-shirts and sustainable cotton pyjamas. Sainsburys and Asda for black work trousers. Charity shops for cashmere and silk items! I am the wrong shape for Uniqlo.

"Kate" skinny jeans from Peacocks are bloody amazing and are £14 and I have every colour ( around 6 I think ) and they wash lovely and are quite high waisted which I like.

H&M t shirts are great quality but hoodies and jumpers are rubbish.
TU is pretty good overall.
Matalan is hit and miss... Have to look carefully at stitching etc. Got some great black slim cut trousers recently.
M&S is fine for vests, leggings, underwear and socks but everything else looks cheap and nasty. Kidswear is decent though.

Every time I have gone into a New Look recently the stuff has been dreadful, but I've bought a few bits online that I haven't seen in any of their shops, and they're more like the New Look quality of old

Uniqlo - most of my wardrobe is from there.

Matalan - long sleeve jersey tops.

Gap - there are frequent offers, so you can get good bargains.
