I'm searching for a pair of comfy sandals that I can drive in. After looking at so many pairs I've lost all sense of what are nice and what are old granny?!?!?

I'm 38 and want them for the school run and driving about in and I can't decide if these are nice or if I should buy them for my 93 year old grandma Confused.

I prefer the timberland ones.

@rosydreams those are... comfortable looking. GrinGrin

I’ve been considering both the geox and timberland ones, I like a crossover ankle strap style. I had a similar pair from Clark’s last year that were so very comfortable, and actually got lots of compliments from trendy people. I’m very sad that Clark’s aren’t doing them again this year.

But yes, although I have been considering the geox ones, the soles make it a no for me. I think if I were ten years younger I could pull it off, but now I’d just look like a granny.

And I’m not a fan of sandals with embellishments at all - unnecessary sequins, beads and butterflies is too per una for me.

I like them but I like a nice wander round M&S as well

troppibambini · 16/04/2019 17:29

Nope sorry awful.

OntheDL · 16/04/2019 17:33

OP, what about Saltwater sandals? they are really comfortable and come in loads of colours too

Romax · 16/04/2019 17:38

That link to the wimbley ones... shudder

Geox are supremely comfortable, genuinely. So I have a pair of geox ones similar to those in white. I wear them in summer when taking children on long walk.

Then I have a stunning R&B pair for going out in the evening, and then other nice looking but not nearly so comfortable pairs for day time wear.

So perhaps mix it up

Alsohuman · 16/04/2019 17:49

@Romax, no idea why you’re shuddering, they make your ankles look thinner and, with brown feet, painted toenails and rolled trousers, they look pretty nice.

Romax · 16/04/2019 17:54

, no idea why you’re shuddering,

Personal taste. Simple as that.

fruitpastille · 16/04/2019 18:05

If you have lovely slim, tanned ankles and feet then granny chic can be pulled in a slightly ironic way. If you have sturdy ankles and are the wrong side of 40 then it's much harder!

Personally I favour patent birkies which luckily I can walk miles in. I am considering fly London ones though. Disclaimer: I am not v stylish.
