Please help me choose a dress for my sisters wedding.

My sister is getting married in a couple of months. I'm going dress shopping at the weekend but have no idea what to look for. I haven't bought new clothes in about 5 years.

Pre children I was an 8-10 hour glass with decent boob's and a tiny waist. I liked structured dresses with nipped in waists from places like Coast and Karen Millen. Since children I've a massive section overhang, no waist, unpredictable boobs and am a 12-14 which doesn't sound too bad but I'm not quite 5ft so the gain is really noticeable. I'm short waisted so finding things that fit well can be difficult.

It's a church wedding followed by afternoon tea in a barn and a Ceilidh.

I'm not even sure what shops to look in now let alone what styles might work. Any help would be much appreciated.

I've had some beautiful dresses from chi chi London online. 50s style, full skirted ones. They looked amazing on and made me feel really confident despite the mum tum i developed! Try it x

Why don't you book yourself in with a personal shopper at Debenhams or John Lewis? Don't commitment to buy etc

Or maybe look on Pinterest for some ideas of shape and styles before you head to shops.

Wallis, Next, M&S have a good petite range. Maybe go for something that is fitted around top and waist then flares out like the shape of this dress?

Cathy's ghost they are brilliant. Love them. Have ordered a couple to try.

Had a shop, and semi personal shopper experience as a bored assistant made me her project in a department store.

I bought this, because it was the most flattering shape ony body.

The floaty ones like Brilliant you were what I wanted but didn't flatter and I'd have loved lace or embroidery or shimmer for a wedding but couldn't find any. So what I have looks great on but dosent shout summer wedding. I'm looking for ideas to dress it up in anyone has the time.

I'm 5ft and size 12-14. Dorothy Perkins has a petite wedding guest section now:

I bought a dress from Apricot recently that fit really nicely. I prefer to buy online and try on at home with the right underwear / shoes etc.
