What do you think of my hair?

Is this a frumpy mum bob? From the front I have a side part without a fringe.

What do you think of my hair?

Love it..I had my hair like that until recently, I'm growing mine now.

PresidentHump · 10/04/2019 18:13

Depends on the rest of your style tbh! Why you asking?

Jellybean100 · 10/04/2019 18:16

No it’s nice!

BunnyBob · 10/04/2019 18:16

Reading a frumpy bob thread got me wondering if I had one? It might be too short to class as a reverse mullet (hopefully).

BunnyBob · 10/04/2019 18:19

Thanks, feeling reassured so far!

It’s not a bob. It looks quite similar to what known as a ‘can I speak to the manager’ haircut I think.

GimmeBread · 10/04/2019 18:28

It's perfectly lovely and not grumpy at all!

GimmeBread · 10/04/2019 18:29

*FFS - frumpy not grumpy 😀

saganorenscarandcoat · 10/04/2019 18:29

It's ace, you look fab.

CountFosco · 10/04/2019 20:34

There is no hair style a middle age woman is allowed to have. Short hair is sensible and 'giving up'. A bob is called 'a mum bob' and is boring. Long hair is trying to hold onto your youth. So just have it how you want.

desparate4sleep · 10/04/2019 20:39

The colour is lovely. I'm guessing you're a natural blonde, if not your hairdresser is amazing. I wouldn't day its frumpy at all, in fact I think it's quite stylish.

BunnyBob · 10/04/2019 20:52

I do have a fab hairdresser! My hair is naturally dark mousey blonde, it's highlighted using foils on the longer parts on the top and she paints some blonde directly onto the shorter parts. I am quite grey now though- especially round the temples, so have to have the roots done every six weeks! I've had it this short for a few years since I lost it all through chemo and it tends to look thicker shorter as it's much finer than it was previously. So glad no-one has said it's too 90's yet!

visitorthedog · 10/04/2019 20:53

I like it. I agree with @countfosco though, you basically can’t win unless you’re in your 20’s with a perfect figure, then your hair, any style, is fine. After that - forget it.

TheNavigator · 10/04/2019 21:01

'Frumpy mum bob' and 'can I speak to the manager haircut' are unpleasant misogynistic put downs aimed at undermining the confidence of middle aged women. I do wish posters on Style and Beauty would not stoop to them.

OP - your hair looks fab.

JoyceDivision · 10/04/2019 21:07

@TheNavigator I completely agree, weird shitty put downs to strangers on a forum that should be for discussion not venom.

Love it op, similar to my hair, plus easy to mess it up and texture it when you like

managedmis · 10/04/2019 21:09

I like it.

I saw a woman with a cut like that, but shorter I. E. Shaved underneath but long on top, looked really funky.

Bluededoobeedoo · 10/04/2019 21:09

Think it needs a bit more shape, sort of like you're not being bold enough with it? But it's fine and very practical

ShhhItsMySecret · 10/04/2019 21:11

Its lovely.
Looks in great condition, and the colours are really well done.

NiteFlights · 10/04/2019 21:14

Depends on your clothes, make-up, etc I’d say - the vibe of this sort of cut can vary. It’s a good cut and colour. If you like it there’s certainly no need to change it.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 10/04/2019 21:26

I think good cut and colour there. Looks good. Thumbs up from me

BunnyBob · 10/04/2019 22:17

I've never heard of a 'can I speak to the manager haircut' before Grin. Blue- I did take this photo at the end of a day at work- it does tend to fall a bit flat by then- when I've had more time I do 'style' it up a bit more with a bit more volume at the crown and sleeker at the front. I dress quite conventionally- dresses and opaques for work and skinny jeans and tops at the weekend with heeled boots but I try to look smart and a little glamorous - I always wear some make-up and lipstick, even on a weekday!

@GimmeBread How rude.

userxx · 10/04/2019 23:30

@Chewbecca Even! That's not nice.

Hazeintheclouds · 10/04/2019 23:52

Nice!

Pianobook · 11/04/2019 05:54

That’s not what I think of when I see frumpy mum bob on here.

I like it.
