Can I wear a denim jacket with jeans?

I wear either black or midwash blue skinny jeans every day. Can I wear a denim jacket with them or is this a huge no-no? I usually am a firm believer in people wearing whatever they please but I don’t want to look daft.

Does anyone rock this look and am I worrying needlessly?!

What about a leather biker jacket for spring? Doesn’t have to be black.

I don't like blue and blue, but wear blue jacket with black or grey jeans. Look for a khaki combat type shirt/jacket op, that looks good with blue jeans.

I have actually seen a lot of ‘double denim’ about recently on teen girls so it’s obviously socially acceptable amongst youngsters now unlike 10 years. I don’t think I would wear it though!

I work in fairly creative industry so might be a bit too relaxed - have been known to wear what I consider fun but regular and turned up to family events to "wtf you wear that to work?!" Reactions.

I think a really beautifully fitting denim shirt rather than jacket is the way to get a cool, sophisticated look rather than b*witched or Britney and JT best couple outfit of all time ever. Here are some examples I like...

I have a pale blue denim jacket, quite oversized, from Topshop last year and wear it with black jeans. I wear my leather biker with blue jeans. Tbh it is still like winter here, denim and leather jackets seem a long way off.

Blue denim jacket perfect with black jeans, grey jeans, any black trousers, khaki trousers and any summer dress. Personally I think teaming up with a pair of blue jeans is a big no no.
With blue denim in spring I'd wear a khaki coloured jacket, a light fitted trench coat, biker jacket or jersey blazer.

I like blue denim jacket with black jeans and seen a great white denim jacket the other day that I'd wear with blue jeans.

Im in the process of changing up my wardrobe so have been people watching lots and checking out all the shops.

Love my denim jacket. Like everyone else I wear it with black or khaki jeans, and skirts and dresses of all colours. I haven't worked out how to make double denim work for me but like the denim shirt look. With my blue jeans I wear a military style jacket in the summer, mine is from Hush (but khaki not camo) but there are lots available.

I used to have a pale pink denim jacket yonks ago. No idea what happened to it.

I wear mine mostly with dresses but have worn it with khaki and white skinnies. Mine is very light and I always take it on holiday. I have bought a coatigan recently and I am thinking of layering it underneath whilst it is still a bit chilly.

Double blue denim is a firm no for me.

I'd wear my black denim jacket with blue jeans even really dark ones. Matching jacket and trousers looks awful on me for some reason whether jeans or smarts.

I agree with @angelunderneath. I would never have done it, but my 19 and 21 year olds wear a lot of double (blue) denim these days. Very much in the style in the picture posted by @Nowthenforever2019

Yes you can as long as they are not the same colour. It's very fashionable at the moment.
My niece works in the fashion industry and some of the models come in wearing black Jean's and blue denim shirts. Can be dressed up with booties or pumps and down with sneakers.
