I need help. Turning 40 this year, 3 young kids so knackered alot and had a real bad illness 6wks ago and my skin has gone to pot. Im breaking out in spots everywhere, my skin type is oily, it just looks so dull, congested, yucky. I have started to get fine lines under my eyes and these weird little red veins on my cheeks. Ive been using estee lauder skincare for years but this isnt doing the job anymore. Does anyone know where i start i need a skincare routine for glowing skin and abit of anti ageing which wont make break out in spots. Thanks

I have just started the glow toner by pixi. It gets great reviews so Fingers crossed .
I thought it may be too strong but I have sensitive skin so you should be ok
Also rate the liz Earle cleaners and hot cloth

Sleep, water, intensive exercise. I use Clinique, but Lancome is brilliant i find.

Bravura! Affordable, and it's great for my skin. I use the collagen moisturiser at night and it's kept my fine lines at bay and the packaging is great too.

I was 40 last year and decided to start looking after my skin.

Started using SPF50 cream, pixi tonic and retinol. Also no more sun beds.

Also got some Botox 😊 and trying to drink more water. So far, so good

For starters, if you're only starting to get lines, you're in good shape!

Have you tried Superdrug glycolic acid pads? They have definitely brightened and smoothed my skin, and apparently are good for acne too.

The Fantastic skincare threads on here are great, have a look there - it's more about ingredients than brands

I recently tried samples from Angela Langford as I'm in pretty much the same boat (go to her website to get them, I think you pay £4.50 for postage) and my skin started glowing within 2 days. I've since bought the full sizes! I am so impressed!

Thankyou for all your replies i shall give the pixie glow a try i have heard really good reviews. I went to boots yesterday and tbh didnt know where to start there was vitamin c serums, oils, acids you name it! I found it all abit daunting lol thats why i came on here for your help.

If you want to try hot cloth cleansers and a much cheaper dupe for pixi glow I can really recommend the Superdrug Naturally Radiant range - I've been using it for a couple of years now as my budget sadly doesn't stretch to Liz Earle anymore and I find it brilliant. I have quite oily skin and just turned 40 too - it works wonders for me!

Chill09 · 04/04/2019 08:34

Thank you CusheyButterfield i must admit i haven't got alot of money to spend. I shall go to the shops on my own without children to have a proper look. I just can't believe how it's suddenly crept up on me how my skin is ageing and texture changing.

Don't be too worried OP - you've recently been ill, we're coming out of winter, and you're probably a bit worn down, which all take a temporary toll on skin. Can you get a few early nights, as well as the new skincare regime?

The Superdrug stuff is really good btw.

!!UPDATE😀😀😀
Just wanted to say a massive thankyou to all of you for your advise. I decided to go for the superdrug naturally radiant range due to the price (pennies are abit tight at the mo) and i am sooo happy. I could tell the difference after 1 day its been 7 days now and my skin looks fab xx

I'm so pleased it's working for you @Chill09 Smile

I absolutely love the Superdrug stuff, recommend it to everyone! And I love how cheap it is too.
