Need help choosing outfit for my own leaving do

Am leaving work next week after being there for 10 years. DRess code is 'smart casual' but that's what I usually wear for work anyway so would like a dress or something without looking too formal. Are maxi-dresses too Margo Ledbetter?
I'm size 16, quite tall with flobbery belly but will be wearing magic underwear! Have got some lovely gold wedges to wear with it.

It's your leaving do! You wear exactly what you want! What are they going to do, sack you?

Have fun!

yeah i know that
I just wanted some fashion advice really. Got the 'posher' do on one night then a meal and night out at club the next night with my dept which should be easier to choose an outfit for (elasticated waist for post-pigout and blck to hide alcohol spillages)

Well, I think you should put up lots of pictures of yourself in different outfits. I am enjoying this new facet of Mumsnet.

Shoes sound fab btw. Link?

eeee, couldn't do that . Some forensically-minded internet perve will trace me to my home by the wall paper in the background or something...

(or everyone will come on and say 'ooo that's nice, moomin', and then snigger at me into their laptops)

shoes are kind of like these but in gold not patent black. They were from New look
