Wheeled shopping trolleys - practical solution or am I becoming a granny?

We are doing more and more of our shopping locally - hurrah. But I think I need a shopping trolley to wheel it all home - there are some "funky" ones but DH just laughs hysterically when I mention it.

Whaddayathink or does anyone have one (under 50 yo) and is not laughed at?

Granny
Did you see the thread MN middle class and middle aged
You are now a self fulfilling prophecy I think
Although I agree v practical and good for the back

Carnoodleusfudge · 11/07/2007 18:45

So I shall have to continue lugging my stuff around...

It was funky Habitat print BTW

Carnoodleusfudge · 11/07/2007 18:49

Is it a funky one?
A box on wheels?
A wicker one?

I've seen the Habitat ones and really liked them

what about one of these

Carnoodleusfudge · 11/07/2007 18:53

I quite like those but does having a funky pattern make it any less...well...fuddy duddy?

i've seen lots of people with them where we live - coming back laden from farmers market etc

DarrellRivers · 11/07/2007 18:55

YP -I didn't see anyone with one at Clothes show live
Although anywhere less grannytastic I couldn't really say.
Crowds and crowds of teens

Carnoodleusfudge · 11/07/2007 18:56

Txs all - I am getting one. Fed up with lugging all the shopping around and I can barge in with my trolley infront of old ladies ...revenge is sweet!

you just have to make sure you are dressed in an edgy, funky, totally non-grannyish way (no beige,) when you use it

SoMuchToBits · 11/07/2007 19:08

I have one and it's very useful - I couldn't get my shopping home without it. I know that FrannyandZooey has one, and I'm sure she's not a granny.

Slubberdegullion · 11/07/2007 19:11

I think Lapin has one too.

If I lived near shops that I could walk too I would get one. I wouldn't go funky. I would get a sensible blue/green tartan one, and I would be proud of it (but not in a stroking of trolley manner).

It's like being sexy isn't it. It's all about the attitude, not the looks.

SoMuchToBits · 11/07/2007 19:13

Mine is plain emerald green, and I love it. It's definitely better then having a bad back lugging too many heavy shopping bags around!
