Ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall.
Then dinner at The Ivy.
5 guests - me, DP, two DSes, one girlfriend.

It’s happening in May, on my 45th birthday.

What do I wear?

I’m a size 14, bit of a tummy. Help!

Congratulations! Monsoon have some lovely beaded maxi dresses that I would be happy to get married in. Pale pink, pale blue & other colours.

Pinkarsedfly · 21/03/2019 14:14

Thank you!

I’m not sure I want to go long, but thanks for your suggestion.

I’ve been looking at Nancy Mac, and I wondered about this dress with red shoes and a bunch of red roses? Or am I too old for ivory?

You don't mention any budget ...

Pinkarsedfly · 21/03/2019 14:17

Ooer, George, very Bianca Jagger!

It’s gorgeous but I’m aiming for around the 200 quid max mark.

I think that dress is stunning and no, not too old for ivory at all.

Pinkarsedfly · 21/03/2019 14:25

Really, Moondancer?

I have red hair, so will red shoes, red lipstick and red bouquet look ok?

Just to give it a bit of edge?

White suit!!! Loads of highstreet stores are doing them at the moment.

WaterQuarter · 21/03/2019 14:27

Just wanted to say that it sounds like a gorgeous wedding! Small and chic.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 21/03/2019 14:29

Sorry, I'm no use at mid-range! Spend the rest on accessories.

Is the dress you've shown really that colour? You don't think a tiny bit ... depressing?

Reaa · 21/03/2019 14:31

A white trouser suit would look stunning with the red.

Or do you want a dress?

Pinkarsedfly · 21/03/2019 14:32

It’s ivory...I don’t think it’ll be depressing...

They do the same one in pale green...

Go to a department store and book a personal shopper- you tell them a budget and they will help you

Pinkarsedfly · 21/03/2019 14:33

I think I want a dress —to hide a multitude of sins—

I am always recommending Bombshell Dresses, but I reckon they really do look good on everyone!

spanishwife · 21/03/2019 14:35

Whistles have just brought out the MOST beautiful white suit in their bridal range - may be just about to launch if you don't find it yet.
M&S actually do brilliant blazers too so worth a look.

thefirstmrsdewinter · 21/03/2019 14:39

Not 'too old' for ivory OP! I got married in my 40s in a satin dress very similar to the one you've posted, but longer and very plain in a kind of oyster colour, like a very very pale khaki/taupe.
Your wedding sounds fab and very similar to our Plan A but I bottled out and invited more people to act as a buffer between our parents. Hmm

Shoefleur · 21/03/2019 14:41

Some nice weddingish dresses in tkmaxx at the moment

Pinkarsedfly · 21/03/2019 14:42

I like those bombshell ones too!

I might have to do a lot of ordering and trying on!

To be blunt I think if you're after a bit of edge you'll have to choose a different dress.
It's a lovely dress, but edgy it ain't.
