Just spent £125 at hairdressers . Wanted to go darker from my usual highlights . What colour would you say I look now?

Ashy blonde? What colour did you want?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 20/03/2019 15:05

I wouldn’t describe it as one colour, I’d pretty say heavily highlighted.

AgathaF · 20/03/2019 15:05

Ash blonde, particularly at the front.

HJWT · 20/03/2019 15:09

Blonde with a darker root? Expensive hairdresser

HJWT · 20/03/2019 15:10

But then the front root is ash blonde so highlights? Confused

Charliescar · 20/03/2019 15:11

This is how it looked before

I think it looks grey - I do have grey , but wanted it to be disguised and also some darker bits in their , I am naturally dark

Grey/blonde

Blonder than the before pic

Milliy · 20/03/2019 15:13

To me it looks grey. Lots of white and grey with touches of salt and pepper.

Milliy · 20/03/2019 15:16

Wow £125 for colour that looks like nothing has been done.

JinglingHellsBells · 20/03/2019 15:18

I can see some darker tones and assume those are what you asked for. Overall, it looks ash blonde with a bit of dark honey.

loveskaka · 20/03/2019 15:19

I wouldn't have been happy paying £125, front section does look grey

according · 20/03/2019 15:36

Did they put a toner on? That may be bringing out the 'grey' (I assume bleach?) highlights.

It's looks a very ashy blonde.

OrigamiZoo · 20/03/2019 15:38

It looks like you are blending grey and blonde with a view to going grey all over.

BlueMerchant · 20/03/2019 15:43

Too much grey at front. Doesn't look as if it been done evenly.

Charliescar · 20/03/2019 15:56

I definitely am I not trying to go grey yet !! I said I wanted darker bits in there . I have now emailed salon to same I am not happy , I feel a bit awkward about that - i think that’s the best way forward . I did say I liked it in the salon , but it looked different outside .

Good for you. Its so hard to be confrontational isnt it. Wish I had been braver over the years. I prefer to do my own highlights and colour as it turns out exactly how i want it.

Springwalk · 20/03/2019 16:00

grey sorry

LorelaiRoryEmily · 20/03/2019 16:09

Hairdresser here. There doesn’t look to be a lowlite in you hair. It looks like a prelightner and a high life blonde. It needs to be broken up a little if you wanted it to be slightly darker. You look blonder than in the before picture and the grey is quite visible.
In the hairdressers defense though, you will still see some grey when you have hilites unless you have masking done in between the packets.
Just ask them to break it up a little. It shouldn’t be a problem and considering you asked and didnt get what you asked for they absolutely should not charge you

Margot33 · 20/03/2019 16:19

Ash blonde with honey and grey. I don't think they've done a great job, sorry.

JinglingHellsBells · 20/03/2019 16:21

Did your £125 include cut and blow dry? People are commenting on the cost but it's normal where I go to pay £75 for a few lowlights and £75 for the cut and blow dry if it's a snr stylist.

Charliescar · 20/03/2019 16:25

Jingle hells bells - it included a blow dry by an apprentice

LorelaiRoryEmily - will it be awkward if they offer to redo my hair ? Does this happen a lot with hair

OP posts:
LorelaiRoryEmily · 20/03/2019 17:15

@charliescar it shouldn’tbe awkward at all. I’ve redone things for people and never made them feel bad. I actually redid a colour recently where the client wanted to change from hilites to balayage, I showed her pictures of exactly what it would look like, she insisted on doing it and then some didn’t like it.
So I redid it. Full head of hilites over it and I didn’t charge her again. I’d rather lose a few € and keep my reputation and I’m sure your hairdresser will feel the same
