What to wear with a black leather skirt on night out?

Usually I wear casual with it but I want to wear it for a night out. It's above the knee, A-line.
I'm slim but no spring chicken so don't want to look dated or over the top.

I don't have any advice but I'm following as I'm having the same problem. Google seems to suggest a bodysuit but I think that's a bit much for me.

I always wear mine with a Whistles Annie Sparkle knit, so it's relaxed but a bit dressy IYSWIM. Not very exciting though I admit!

Where is the night out? What is the occasion? Can't imagine dressing a leather skirt up would have the desired effect at each age, they look best when edgy & dressed down.

Personally I wouldn't wear with heels. Either flat/low heel ankle boots or smart slimline trainers.

On top either a simple, smart t-shirt or a more structured top in non glitzy design/fabric, both with sleeves of some sort of length. I wouldn't go for sleeveless or strappy.
You can add interesting accessories to lift it from casual.

If its an A-line skirt rather than a slim fitting one I'd either tuck in the top or have a relatively slim fitting top. A slouchy top with an A-line skirt could make you look A shaped from neck to knee!

Maybe work out what tights and shoes you'll be wearing and work it out from there?

I agree with a casual t shirt, but would definitely wear heels!

If it was a pencil skirt I'd say a red silk blouse (but I've been thinking about one for ages so that's not surprising) but since it's an a-line mini I agree it needs a slogan t-shirt or a band t-shirt or a boxy jumper with opaque tights and cool ankle boots.

Hi, I would tend to "dress down" leather as the skirt is the statement piece. I often wear a thin knit polo neck top with mine (a bit like the photo), although recently I did wear a blouse. I agree it should be tucked in and ankle boots look good so I would go with a black or grey polo neck jumper, black tights and ankle boots with a heel, then add a splash of colour with a jacket or jewellery.
