Why have I got these dark marks on my bra line and can I get rid of them?

I had a proper bra fitting so know I am wearing the right size but I basically have reverse tan lines by my armpits and up to my shoulders. It looks like dirt!! My bras don’t feel too tight but clearly something is admiss. Has anyone else had this and how did you get rid of them?!!

Assuming I've understood your post correctly- this is a mark on your skin, not on your bra strap itself?

Could it be this?

It forms in skin folds usually, but I have actual patches of it on my arms (looks like a bruise but it's brown

Yes it's on my skin exactly where the top of the cup is and where the strap sits. Looks like someone has painted a dark grungy line on me!

Do you use fake tan? I had/have this, although since I don't use fake tan any more it has faded a lot but hasn't completely disappeared. I have it on the front bra strap line and a mark on the shoulders. I imagine it's dry skin, although I exfoliate and moisturise daily.

It doesn't bother me unless I'm wearing a strapless or cutaway dress or top, and then I dab some highlighting concealer type stuff on it (anything reflective/golden is good) as that helps to cancel it out. I've found ordinary concealer doesn't work as it makes the darker patches look muddy.

It's really annoying, and when I see celebs wearing strapless dresses I always notice how they don't have it!! I didn't used to have it, I had a strapless wedding dress 15 years ago and fortunately didn't have it then so it's only arrived since.

I have this too. I put it down to aging and wearing something quite firmly pressed against the skin for over 30 years. It definitely seems like pigment.

It's pretty normal I'm afraid for wearing bras over a number of years. If you think about how often you wear them and how close to the skin they are, would be the same if you had a plaster cast on for years for example. The pigment of your skin changes for various reasons. Embrace it as one of the many shitty but ultimately not that important things that go with womanhood :)

I have this too. I always assumed it’s just where the strap rubs everyday, day in day out. Probably the equivalent of a callous, but thankfully not painful or bumpy.

Hihellohi · 19/03/2019 13:04

Aah I have this too. And because I don’t really wear strapless and strappy tops I don’t notice until I see other women who don’t have it.. at the beach and pools etc
how come they don’t have it then - do they not wear their bras so tight then?

BigButtons · 19/03/2019 13:11

It’s just become really noticeable . Probably exacerbated by some new bras I have that are more rigid at the sides than my older, softer ones. So ugly I look like I have painted lines on myself!

Could it be that women who don’t have it have smaller boobs?

BigButtons · 19/03/2019 13:42

I have tiny boobs- alas!

Oh! Maybe not then!
