As the title. Would really appreciate some help.

I'm mid 40's and size 8.

Thanks for your thoughts. Don't mind a bargain and sometimes buy from eBay.

I went to a very similar thing (corporate, football match, buffet, champagne). I wore (it was a few years back so translate into modern times!) gorgeous very glam black trousers, heels, leather jacket, luxurious scarf. Heeled boots would also be fine and do the trick. I felt right, if it’s any help. Jeans would not have been appropriate. Don’t know if that’s helpful or not.

Thank you thanks, that at least gives a starting point. I'm desperately looking at what I already own, a long black coat for instance.

I was thinking ankle boots and a smart, warm dress?

Are you sure you need to be warm? If you’re in a box then you’ll be inside and heated.

FindPrimeLorca · 19/03/2019 15:50

If you are going to be outside then the only thing on display will be coat, boots and a scarf so look for the perfect scarf to go under or over your coat. Fashionista top tip is a big leather belt over your coat: both scarves and statement belts are often good charity shop finds (because you’re not restricted by what happens to be in your size).

Some good ideas, thanks.

I think it is a meal inside then seats outside.

So coat off inside, coat on outside.

Any links for a suitable dress?

You can’t sit inside and watch live-you have to sit outside or watch tv. Corporate isn’t really that dressy at all. I would wear a plain black jersey dress, the coat you have and boots.

I've done corporate at Scottish football - there is often a dress code but it normally just says "no jeans". I would do a pair of smart trousers and a fitted jumper (with possibly a thermal tee underneath!). Nice boots, statement jewellery.

Assuming it's the FA Cup Final it's 18th May - shouldn't be cold if that helps (famous last words!).

It’ll probably be a big room with a balcony all down one side that you can go out on to if you want to. If it’s cold you can stay inside and watch from the room.

Huge supporter, so definitely outside cheering!
