Any beauty tips? I'm getting married in 7 weeks

I'm not going to be able to afford to have my hair and make up profesionally done.

What should I be doing in the run up to the day to make sure I look my best? I've been trying to drink 2 litres of water a day and making sure I remove my make up every night.

Any tips on products? Hair and make up techniques?

I just want something simple. I'm never going to be the most beautiful woman in the room but I'd like to look half decent on my wedding day!! I'll also be 27 weeks pregnant

sleep, exfoliate and get a bit of a tan. not sure if sunbed is allright when pg though. and not sure about the chemicals in self tan lotion either. I'd ask.
what about this?

Pannacotta · 10/07/2007 13:44

Agree def no to sunbed, check with a salon re St Tropez in pregnancy...
If not tinted moisturiser/bronzer would work well.

BaggieBird · 10/07/2007 13:51

Oooh that Benefit stuff looks good. Something like that might work out better because I'm quite pale so fake tan might make me look orange! No sunbed then. I don't think I could afford that St Tropez stuff.
Seems like a tan is one of the most important things then.
My mom just said she knows someone that will do my mine and my little girls hair, so thats 1 less thing to worry about.

Good point about eyebrows - well worth getting them professionally waxed. My local salon charges £8, takes 5 mins, makes all the difference to that 'groomed' look.

Nails should be short, clean and nicely shaped. You don't have to spend lots on a professional manicure (which always looks overdone, imo) - just lots of handcream, a good nail file and some clear varnish will do.

Definitely no sunbed in pg. Fake tan shouldn't be a problem, though. And Hollywood Glo stuff v.v. good Take extra care of shoulders and decolletage - loads of exfoliation and moisturising!

A bit of a tan sort of smoothes out your body, hides some of the veins and stretch marks etc. But dont worry if you dont want one. I didnt bother for my wedding ,but I did do the body exfoliator cos the does make you feel gorgeous.

Really I think the face is more important than the body.I was told to wear more mascara than normal so that it showed up in the photos.

newlifenewname · 10/07/2007 14:04

I didn't have a lot to spend on 'me' for my wedding but had a tan, eyebrows done and had professionally applied false lashes and a french manicure! Did my own make up and hair.

BaggieBird · 10/07/2007 14:06

I will definatly get my eybrows done. Should I like not do them myself for a few weeks so they've got more to work with iykwim?

I'm dreading having my photo taken...

EmilyDavidson · 10/07/2007 14:07

Yes grow them through a bit especially if they are overplucked now

nomdeplume · 10/07/2007 14:08

Yes, leave them alone, let them grow in naturally so that therapist (do they call themselves that ?) has as much to work with as poss.

BaggieBird · 10/07/2007 14:12

Leave them for 7 weeks
