I need to buy some makeup this week please and obviously need the help of mumsnetters!

I am already sorted out for foundation as use clinique super balanced and am happy with this but need help with everything else please. Suggestions of brands very welcome. Should I just go to a make up counter e.g benefit and buy everything from one or is it better to buy from different counters as well??

I'd go to spacenk or somewhere and ask them to do a full makeover and then buy wqhat you think looks good.

And congratulations!!!!

hercules1 · 10/07/2007 11:19

Thanks. Is that in department stores?

Bobbi Brown - they are brilliant at doing subtle, pretty make up. Very good quality and nice helpful staff.

chevre · 10/07/2007 11:33

how much do you have to spend. no advice as such. just living vicariously would LOVE to go on a make up splurge.

hercules1 · 10/07/2007 11:38

No real figure in mind. I guess not a huge amount but not cheap stuff either. Clinique type prices are fine.

Is Bobbi Brown in dept stores?

Yes, most of the big ones. It is a bit more pricey than clinique, but not outrageous iirc. Get some ideas of what suits you and a couple of nice bits from them and then get down to No 7 to get the rest - they have great eyeshadows in subtle colours for example

Thanks for advice so far. Bumping for more

I like the idea of a grey eyeliner. I have brown eyes andhair and always go for brown eyeliner but think it's a bit harsh still.
