Going to a wedding and struggling to get a dress

Finding it hard to get the middle ground between mother of the bride and flower girl Confused

I'm quite small, which doesn't help, and I'd like my arms covered.

Has anyone seen anything which makes me look 30 something? I'm a size 8, willing to spend between £75-100.

There are lots of lovely options at John Lewis atm. Look under womenswear offers - lots of brands to choose from, and Phase Eight has an extra percentage reduction off their sales items as well. I just bought myself a lovely dress of theirs that would be perfect for a spring or summer wedding, for £38. JL is good - you can buy a few things to choose between and because their returns policy is so generous it gives you plenty of time to make up your mind.

This is the one I bought, I thought it was really cute and at that price I couldn’t resist...

But I’ve got about twenty more on my wish list! Grin

I like chi chi London. Reasonable prices and great wedding guest attire.

I've been looking at ChiChi London and I did order this

But I feel like a little girl in a party dress. I don't know if it's just me, I'm a bit self conscious.

Might this work? Available in lots of colours and petite length. Plain fabric so not 'flower girly' m.boden.co.uk/en-gb/womens-dresses/day-dresses/j0235-nav/womens-navy-bronte-ottoman-dress

What you've ordered is beautiful! Wear that!

pinacollama · 17/03/2019 16:49

I’m going to a wedding in 3weeks and have ordered that dress to try too! I think it’s pretty, though not sure what shoes etc to wear with it.

AppleDump · 17/03/2019 16:51

That's Chi Chi dress is stunning. I'd wear gold/silver shoes similar to the picture

Drogosnextwife · 17/03/2019 16:58

OP I'm in the same boat except I'm pretty tall. I found a couple on chi chi that I thought would be good but one of my friends said they are not great and cheaply made. Does anyone have any experience of them because I can't find anything else I like.

XingMing · 17/03/2019 18:40

I think that dress is really pretty for a young woman for a wedding. Not sure how height would alter that, except that it would look even better. At 60, maybe not.......... but you are 30 ish and a size 8. Pale shoes and accessories I think.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 17/03/2019 18:48

I've had Chi Chi dress and it was surprisingly good quality. The one you've ordered is very pretty.

But I really love the one Ninkaninus linked.

pinacollama · 17/03/2019 20:05

When I got married my bridesmaids wore Chi Chi dresses and they were lovely. I think they were a good quality for the price.

The green Phase Eight dress is pretty, a beautiful colour.
