best salon service for grey roots

What's the best thing to do for grey coverage? I'd like it as long lasting as possible but I have no idea what to go for. I have dark brown hair and would like some streaks of light (?) in my hair but will this be sufficient to cover the grey?

I have medium brown hair and going grey. I have highlights of two colours. Sort of honey blonde. If they're too dark the grey shows and if they're too light the roots are awful, so medium coloured highlights works really well. I go every six weeks and alternate between half head and t strip. Mega pain in the arse but happy this way for now.

Thanks Blue. Forgot to mention, had highlights but it really messed with my hair, made it all straw like!

You need a good shampoo and conditioner! I have a treatment conditioner at the salon every now and then which really helps. Also use a cap when I'm swimming. Nothing like it to keep away the unwelcome sexual advances!
