Trench coat colours - what to choose?

Help me decide what colour of trench coat to buy. Will be worn now and then for travel to meetings (self employed) but mainly with jeans/trainers. I had just assumed I’d buy the traditional stone colour, but looked at the Hobbs Saskia today, and there are lots of options. I’m quite pale, cool colouring, and while I’m happy to pay a bit for a coat I love, I do want it to last a few years, and not look dated by autumn. What do you think? Only colours I’d def exclude would be black or khaki green.

I used to have a honey colour one from Zara, it was actually very similar to the Saskia and I absolutely loved it but lost too much weight for it so it went to the charity shop. I wish I could find another one in a smaller size but it was years ago and ebay hasn't delivered.

I'd get the red superdry one. It's lovely.

I have a lilac one. Its lovely, but i'm scared to sit, lean or brush past any and everything.

I’ve got the Jaeger beige one, it’s beautiful. It was only about a hundred quid on brand alley and I got a tenner off that for first order as well.

I love the Saskia trenches from Hobbs and have several. Last a long time and flattering. Lots of compliments!

@hippospot I have a trench coat in cobalt/royal blue - I always get lots of compliments when I wear it. I'm a winter too and it's the perfect colour for most winters.

I bought one recently but went for what someone described up thread as honey coloured from Zara rather than being stone or beige. I have bought coloured trench style costs in the past but don't feel they have the longevity of the one I've bought (maybe deluded)and didn't go with everything - mine has no belt but I can pair it with a tan leather belt and it changes the style of it slightly . And it's got great pockets.

H&M have a gorgeous rust coloured one in cupro at the moment, so gorgeously drapey, I have my eye on it.

Work/formal coats I would only buy in black, navy, tan or beige if I could trust myself with light colour coat Grin.

For a trench coat I would go for a classic beige. I have an M&S one that comes out every spring/summer, it's surprisingly nice and goes with everything.

I have an LK Bennett trench in a pale grey, which is lovely but as it's pure cotton it gets very creased very quickly and so looks really scruffy after one wear (and also gets dirty very easily!)

Uniqlo have a nice trench coat at the moment - in beige, navy and khaki. It's mostly cotton but with some polyester (I think) so that it doesn't crease quite so much.

I got the navy and I really like it. I am also hoping that the darker colour won't show up any creases quite so much.

Just thought I’d let you all know I got a lovely one in an M&S outlet yesterday. Exactly what I was after - light navy, single breasted, not too long, and the flap at the back is buttoned down in the middle so it doesn’t balloon out. A bargain at only £28. The sales person said they often get trenches in, so might be worth a look if any of you have an outlet nearby.
