As above really, I live on an Island and there are no consultants from either of the big names here...is there a way/site to help DIY?

I had a go at doing my colours myself.

First of all, I read up on the principles (google) of colours to get an idea. I also looked at celebrities and people on the streets to see what colours did and didn't suit them.

Then, I worked out if I was cool toned or warm toned - this gets rid of two of the four seasons.

Of the two seasons that were left, it was pretty easy for me to work out which colours suited me best.

I have only worked out my main season, I believe that there are further sub categories, but the main season is good enough for me.

Kettlewell colours has a quiz to help determine your seasons and if confirmed my season.

I came out as winter on all DIY attempts, after having a proper consultation turns out I'm an Autumn, warm and deep. So completely wrong.

Yes, I think you can! For example, I know that I am a “spring” on the basis of a few colours that really suit me - aqua blue, coral and tomato red ( with a yellow undertone) as opposed to ruby red. Yes, have a look online and see what profile you think you fit...

I should though that I think it’s ok not to stick to the colours - so, for example, I love black and dark grey and wear a lot of those colours even they are not spring colours.

Did this myself and came out as deep winter. If you google celebs that have the same season youll get a good idea if its right or not.
