help! summer clothes for men

Dh needs a summer wardrobe, ie something a bit cooler (temp wise, I mean, not kewl-er) than jeans and his long sleeve cotton and/or linen work shirts. He's 40 and has gorgeous legs. I doubt he'd go for anything too trendy, so just some good basics for weekends, etc. Need shoe suggestions too if you don't mind. Please help.. I'm hopelessly style-free so don't know where to begin.

No, he can't and doesn't want to, so I'm going to do. Experience has proven this works well, even though it sounds a bit strange, I know.

Yep. He needs to get them out from under his jeans though. Anyone with any suggestions or good online shops? Please.....

if he gets on with those you can tentatively sugegst linen shorts in the same style
nothing wrong with cotton or linen shirts though (and long sleeves rolled up are more stylish than short), they're much nicer than t-shirts and more comfortable when it's hot

Gap is good for Man Shopping esp if you have a big one near you

Oh, thanks MrsBadger! I did stop by Gap today and got shorts for him but they were huge and completely the wrong size. He's a 36/38 waist and the waist of the 38 shorts I got him were nearer 42 or so. But the good news is that he's going to take them back and exchange them for smaller shorts. Result! And they were on sale so even better. He was thrilled when I told him what you said about long sleeve shirts, so I got him a lightweight linen one and it does look very nice on him - thanks!
