OK I have to recommend Paige Jeans

Have just bought a pair. So comfortable, fit like a dream, are high enough cut so they help a bit in the old tummy region (I really can't do low-cut after 4 kids sadly), make your bum look good. I bought the Hollywood Hills style (boot-cut, classic rise). The Melrose ones are my next stop (straight cut, classic rise), and if you can do a low rise, the Laurel Canyon one have an almost cult following.

From netaporter or (strangely enough) House of Fraser, amongst other places. Or get them for half the price (literally) in the States.

btw they are made by a woman (Paige, natch) who used to be the fit model for citizens of humanity, 7 for all mankind, rock and republic etc etc
so she knows a thing or two about denim and how to give you a good looking bum/long legs/etc

Will check these out. Thanks for the tip.

My gap jeans are looking so old. Probably because they are ancient. But very comfy.

MintyDixCharrington · 06/07/2007 13:29

they are expensive (oh to live in the US where they are about £60) but worth it

my gap ones were always OK but not brilliant, these are much better. hope they work for you!

what size do they go up to?

MintyDixCharrington · 06/07/2007 13:32

16 I think

here is the US site about them

Will have to wait a bit - 16 would be a bit snug just now.

TootyFrooty · 06/07/2007 13:37

Ok but not brilliant is a v good way to describe gap jeans. I've never found a really good pair of jeans - perhaps these will be the answer to my prayers.

hana · 06/07/2007 13:38

so how much in the UK
I think I'd gulp very loudly if over £100

nomdeplume · 06/07/2007 13:39

I tried on the Gap long and lean, supposedly the under £50 wonder jeans. They looked rubbish on me. Monsoon cut much better on me.

hana · 06/07/2007 13:41

have always worn the long and lean here too, but they just don't fit nicly now ( 3 kids later.....) might have a look at monsoon

Anna8888 · 06/07/2007 14:39

I loved Gap Long and Lean... with cowboy boots... but not good look anymore

Gingermonkey · 06/07/2007 15:30

hana, you'd better gulp - they are about £150. SIL has some (but the style she has is a low rise, boot cut one and she has bum crack problems ). They are lovely denim, and have nice pockets too. I like the skinny ones but they are for this A/W so not available anywhere yet, I think

theStallionOfSensibleness · 06/07/2007 15:31

hugh cut
shudder

theStallionOfSensibleness · 06/07/2007 15:31

are they better htan gap?

theStallionOfSensibleness · 06/07/2007 15:36

34 inch leg

are hey VERY logn oynn you pph?

MintyDixCharrington · 06/07/2007 16:09

they aren't really HIGH cut, but about half way between hip bone and belly button. I can't do the hip bone cut, it makes my stomach bulge attractively over the top.
They are long - you have to wear them with heels (and I have long legs). The Melrose ones are half an inch shorter though. I've just ordered those, so will report back in a couple of days

now I'm coveting this. Isn't it just the sweetest sweater? Hmmmmmmm

much better than gap. on me, anyway. sit much better around the hips/tummy, don't sort of sag after a day of wearing and do better things to your bum.

theStallionOfSensibleness · 06/07/2007 16:59

tis a nice sweater
cnat afofrd net a porter though!

Anna8888 · 06/07/2007 17:00

Sweater much, much better than jeans . But wouldn't suit my current long-haired look - def far too old for long hair and puff sleeves
