Can anyone recommend a permanent hair dye that doesn't wash out in 10 washes?

I used to used Nice and Easy which lasted ages and covered grey really well, but they have since changed the formula and it barely lasts 5min. Angry

Currently use Nutrisse or a Swatzkoft brand and am leaning towards Nutrisse being the better permanent dye, but still loses its colour really quickly, especially around the roots. I wash my hair everyday as I need to.

Any suggestions? Am finding all the general toiletry products are turning to crap now and barely doing the job they are supposed to (loved Sure deodorant, but it is pants now). It's driving me nuts!

What colour are you doing? If it’s brown, I feel you. I’ve tried everything... it’s just pants. Change up the colour if you’re feeling brave? Anything red permanently stains!

Disagree with PP I stopped dying my hair red as I had to do it every three weeks despite the "permanent" claim on the box. Loved it too :(

I used Live (is that swartzcopf?) the last time i coloured my hair and found that pretty good. It covered my greys well. A lot of the other colours just don't seem to colour my greys for longer than a few days!

I use the Live one these days and find that it lasts much longer around the roots than Nutrisse did.

Superdrug own brand dyes are by far the best I’ve tried.

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I might look in to the Superdrug one as a few of you have recommended it and maybe try the other ones too.

My hair is dyed black but I have mousey brown hair and grey hair intermittently too, so when it washes out it looks pretty bad! The colour sticks well on the length, it's just the roots I have an issue with. My hair tends to feel a lot better after dyeing it too, so it's just an issue with sticking for more than 2 weeks.

It's weird that the more expensive dyes seem to last half the time. When I first had this issue I bought the more expensive ones hoping they'd stick and they were worse! I was gutted.
