How often do Next replenish their online stock? Fallen in love with a dress, but it's out of stock...would love help to find an alternative please!!

I don't shop online at Next very often but a dress popped up on my Facebook feed and I really liked the look of it.
I rarely wear dresses, or anything smart for that matter, but need something to wear to meet a friend in a swanky place in London and I thought it would be something I could wear there, as I can dress it up or down. Plus I reckon it's something I would wear again.
Then I went to put it in the basket and it's unavailable in all sizes SadSadSad
Its this one www.next.co.uk/style/st358359#539669
I have no idea how often Next replenish their stock...do any of you know?
Failing that. ..has anyone seen anything remotely similar for a similar budget? Size 10-12.

Is it the leopard print one or the ditsy print one you liked?

I wouldn't hold out much hope for it coming back into stock I'm afraid.

chocolateroses · 24/02/2019 21:45

I shop at next a lot. It varies, most of the time I find things come back in stock (sometimes even the next day!) sometimes they don't. You could ring them and they can do a stock check if all the stores near you. Also they can let you know if any more deliveries are due in.

exwhyzed · 24/02/2019 21:48

In my experience of next if something is out of stock in nearly all sizes it's generally because it's not coming back. If it's just out if stock in one or two sizes there's a good chance some more is coming.

It's definitely worth going and having a look in store though.

Holidayshopping · 24/02/2019 21:54

Start looking on eBay -you might find it.

bobkate · 24/02/2019 22:07

Thanks all. It is the animal print one I really love. I will do a call tomorrow. Think I'd be willing to drive almost anywhere!
I like the one you linked to howareya123 but I would worry it would be too long on me (5'4 in a good day). It looks quite long on that tall looking model!
It's typical....I am so shite at finding things like this. I live in a standard daily costume of skinnies, trainers, slouchy jumper/top.
Feel a bit stupid getting my hopes up of wearing something a bit different for me but that I thought I would feel comfortable in Sad

oh bless you don't despair OP- i'm sure something can be found! I hate when you finally find something you'd actually feel ok wearing and then it doesn't work out. I actually always find Next dresses an awkward length anyway at 5.ft 4/5, i think they come up long, and i'm sure that model must also be tall.

my daily uniform is similar to yours and long sleeve dresses are my go to if i wear them as well, i feel really comfortable in them. Not leopard print obviously but i love H&M for shirt dresses, they have loads of nice ones that are a similar shape/tie waist/longer sleeve.

just a thought- how swanky are we talking? if dresses aren't something you feel comfortable in you could do black jeans, heels/boots, belt and a leopard shirt, some gold jewellery? or swap the black jeans out for some tapered trousers? Alternatively the same but with blue jeans and a black satin shirt tucked in, is cool but still smart.

Have got overinvested browsing here obviously, feel a bit like i've spammed you and have actually just ended up shopping. I do hope you get the dress you want - happy to help if not ( stuck in bed with a heavy cold)

canyon2000 · 25/02/2019 07:13

I just looked and it is back in stock in a 10 and a 12.

PicklePumpkinPie · 25/02/2019 07:33

There are 10s and 12s in stock at moment Smile Good luck!

bobkate · 25/02/2019 08:11

You superstars...although I have only got my hands on a 12 so far. Will keep checking in to see if a 10 crops up. Will have a look through the links as when the kids have disappeared Smile

Mammabear31 · 25/02/2019 08:53

OP I've just looked at your original link and some sizes are back in stock!

FleeceDetective · 25/02/2019 08:56

Oh when I was last in a next store the woman being served infront of me was talking to the sales assistant and the next employee told her to always try in store as the physical stores hold a different stock list to the online/catalogue arm of the company.

bobkate · 25/02/2019 11:56

Thanks all, and thanks for all the links and advice dontgobaconmyheart Hope you feel better soon by the way!
When it's come up as low stock, I go to add to the basket but it then comes up as unavailable. Called customer services and apparently not in stock in stores near me. Hey ho. I will keep checking the website and have a look in h and m when I collect the 12 tomorrow. Hopefully the added cakes recently might have been useful and the 12 may well look fab! I bet I try it on and it looks dreadful Grin
I may well stick to the skinnies, with a nice top and accessories. I think I just spotted the dress and could see it working. Will update tomorrow in case anyone is interested Grin

exwhyzed · 25/02/2019 12:42

Excellent news! I suspect they will be returns/cancelled orders rather than new stock.

I find Next really frustrating for this kind of thing, quite often you don't find out until checkout that half your order isn't available for 3 weeks.

chocolateroses · 26/02/2019 05:07

OP ITS IN STOCK -all sizes!!! Xxx

bobkate · 26/02/2019 08:54

chocolateroses I have ordered the 10 and 8 just to be safe GrinGrin
I have no doubt now, after all this lead up, it's going to look frigging hideous on me Grin hey ho, but at least I get the chance to try.
Thanks all

bobkate · 26/02/2019 14:41

Mwah ha ha Grin
Trying to find a comedic way of describing what I looked like in 'the' dress but can't think of anything. Suffice to say it looked shite on me! It came to about 2 inches below my knees, not a good length on me. The fabric was not light and floaty as I imagined it would be and the waist line was too high for me.
Hey ho...Thanks for your help. Luckily I have until the end of March so back to the drawing board.
On the plus side I did buy a barginous £9 pair of leopard print ankle boots Smile and maybe a new slouchy jumper Grin
