Can I revive my burgundy leather jacket with shoe polish?

My inexpensive but lovely burgundy leather jacket is starting to lose it's colour in some areas that get a lot of wear e.g. elbows, shoulder where my bag rubs. I love it as it fits (I am tall) and it (was) a lovely colour and wear it a lot.

I have some shoe polish the same colour What do you think - can I use that to blend in the areas the colour has faded?

Don't see why not. Just make sure you make sure it's polished well. Don't want it coming off.

I would try a little patch first and see how it goes. Sounds like a nice coat.

It might work but I’m a big fan of this:
Leather Balsam 200ml [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005EBNZTI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_yjXBCbNF3HDTG?tag=mumsnetforum-21 Renapur balsam]]

I slather it all over my burgundy biker every couple of years - and 20+ years later it still looks like new!!

Arrrgh broken link sorry! Look for Renapur leather balsam on Amazon..

I second Renapur!
Doesn't always fully re-colour but absolutely makes a big difference.

Louise at Love Lolo advises about shoe creams for Mulberry handbags - could be worth sending her a message. She sells the creams and leather care products as cheaply as Amazon too
