Help me find the holy grail of t-shirts - I'm really struggling!

Basically I want some t-shirts (plain and/or patterned) that are:

*Not fitted but not baggy/loose/tunic style either - just so they show off my curves but not skin tight
*long in length - I am 5ft 8in tall and would like them to be at least 72in long so they go past my tummy
*would prefer scoop or v neck but not fussed if they are crew neck

I have had 2 that fit this bill exactly but 1 was from Yours clothing but I have lost weight and the smallest size they do is a 16. The other was from Dorothy Perkins but it appears was a one off as I cannot find anything similar there now.

Any one any ideas?

Long tall Sally. I have a couple from there that are really nice and a decent length (I'm 5ft 10)

ZaraW · 21/02/2019 18:40

The Cotton Story are the best tshirts in terms of quality and fit. I'm 5'9" and long bodied and they are not too short.

I really like Primark stretch tees (crew and scoop neck in long and short sleeve styles, and the relaxed fit ones for summer) for exactly the reasons you’ve listed OP. I’ve tried lots of other more expensive brands and always end up back at Primark

ChiaraMontague · 22/02/2019 08:56

I’m 5’10 btw

MrsBodger · 22/02/2019 08:59

I’m a shortarse so I don’t know if these would be ok for length but Peacocks do t-shirts that fit your description.

CrabbityRabbit · 22/02/2019 10:05

YY to Primark. Some of their t shirts with the longer sleeves have really long bodies. Thin material but cheap enough that it doesn't matter if they go holey.

BrinkPink · 22/02/2019 10:18

Gap - it's hit and miss but some of their t-shirts are really nice and long. Look online as they have a lot more there than in a shop.

Hema - online. They are dutch (but do have a UK website) and they do some extra-long t-shirts.

I also sometimes get a longer t-shirt dress, if I like the style/colour etc. and cut it to the right length.

BikeRunSki · 22/02/2019 10:25

I have the same T shirt requirements, same height as OP with a long back.

these bamboo t shorts are perfect pricey, but perfect, and now entering their third year of being washed and worn.

BikeRunSki · 22/02/2019 10:26

T shirts! Not T shorts!!

Passthecake30 · 23/02/2019 07:21

I've just brought a plain navy round neck in Dorothy Perkins tall that was just £5 and fits well (I'm 6ft).

I struggle for short sleeve tops. Long sleeve is fine, I have countless stripey tops from long tall Sally... but I want looser, lighter, more interesting (but not frumpy) tops too.

@brinkpink - are all Hema tops cut on the long side or is it hit and miss? Never heard of them before..., thanks

reallemonade · 23/02/2019 07:25

I saw exactly what you want in Morrison's OP. They have a scoop neck, show off curves but not too tight. Nice colours too. £4.

Theromanempire · 23/02/2019 08:54

Thanks for all the suggestions - off to investigate Smile

Didn't even know Morrisons did clothes Confused

Vince ones are fab and feel divine. Expensive but you’d buy one and it’ll last 5 years so price per wear is worthy it! Flannels often have them in the sale section

BrinkPink · 23/02/2019 11:50

Hema tops are generally longish as they’re Dutch and a lot of Dutch people are tall - but they also do a few in extra long, and they are really long! I’m 5’9 and long-waisted and they come down well over my bum.

YesQueen · 23/02/2019 15:26

@Theromanempire I got a cotton story one to try and wouldn't recommend. My bra shows through and it's way too short

Binglebong · 23/02/2019 15:36

Sounds unlikely but if you ever do best tops try lidl. Long, not too tight and wide enough to cover bra straps.

I know not what you're asking but may help in future.

Yes to Gap - their modern range with Modal.
