Kiehl’s - any fans or opinions ?

I had a ‘ consultation ‘ today and asked for a regime to sort out my dry aging skin . I was very impressed with the products I was shown , loved the textures and fragrances etc BUT the price .... £260 for everything - day & night .

I’ve come home with a large selection of sample to try but wondered about any experiences here ?

I have worn the ultra day cream for years, love it. My skin can have dry patches and this is just a great, light day cream.

There products are awesome for my dry aging skin

I only use Kiehl's and The Ordinary now - nothing else.

I love their cleansing oil, face washes, undereye cream and lip mask. I also carry a mini of their flight spray as I travel so much. Their amino acid shampoo and conditioner is also fabulous.

Love Kiehls. Suits my 50-something skin like nothing else, especially the clay cleanser, anti oxidant mask and illuminating moisturiser. Worth the money, imo.

Try the ordinary as it's cheap, then after a few months see if you still need anything from Keihls. It's lovely but not cheap and my dry aging skin has been sorted just with the ordinary.

Thank you .

I don’t know where to start with The Ordinary Flowerpower .

What do you use / recommend please ?

I also recommend The Ordinary over Kiehl’s. I like the moisturising factors, acids and retinoids.

Also the Ordinary is properly cruelty free whereas Kiehl’s sell to China where they insist on animal testing, so I have stopped using them. Loads cheaper too.

I really like the Ultra facial cream. It's very light but really nice to wear.

I'd recommend the ultra face cream and their creme de corps - nothing else gets my legs so soft. Their lip balm also helps my permanently chapped lips!

Shanna89 · 20/02/2019 05:04

I love the midnight recovery oil. It's the only thing I can't find a cheaper dupe for.

I love the Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner. They make a huge difference to my hair. I wish I could find something cheaper that my hair likes so much! Sad I try to buy the biggest size when they have online special offers but it's been a while since they did a 20% off. Looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and cough up the cash again.

I also like Creme de Corps, the lip salve and various moisturisers but the only Kiehl's products I can't live without are the aforementioned Amino acid hair range and their hair serum.

I started shopping at Kiehl's many years ago in NYC when they were still small and I used to go to the East 13th St shop. When they were bought by L'Oreal in 2000, I became increasingly less enamoured with them. Whilst it is SO much easier to buy their products now (they've become ubiquitous), I don't like buying from a "corporate machine" and I have moved most of my former Kiehl's purchases over to Haeckels (small UK ethical independent skincare/haircare brand).

Sorry, I just noticed your question OP. If you email the ordinary with a description of your skin type and what effect you're looming for, they will send you recommendations for a morning and evening routine. I use the buffet, the 5% retinol in squalene, the matrixyl and one of the vitamin c serums...but different products might suit you better so just ask them.

I’m a huge fan I’d love to be able to afford everything and wear it everyday but alas..
I love the creme corps body lotion
Ultra facial wash
And I have a face mask I’m not sure of the name it’s in a green pot.
Midnight recovery is a treat I love it and I find I have an amazing sleep when I wear it.

SpeckledyHen · 22/02/2019 18:17

Thank you all.

On Flowerpower’s suggestion I have emailed The Ordinary .
