Very Posh 10th Anniversary Party - HELP - what present, what to wear, am like a fat GOOSE in a dress

I am going to this extremely posh 10th anniversary, 100 guests coctail waiters, staff, held in a mansion on the Thames, invite says "dinner and dancing".

Can you TELL I am not used to society events?

I am like a duck out of water, and I look like a goose in any dress. I am sixe 16 bordering on 18. Have dieted for three months prior to this, eating salads and vegetable soups, but my weight wont shift! My tummy just wont slim or shape up, my arms are chubby so needs hiding, I need to find a dress pronto! Help!

I guess, on a day to day basis, I dont feel inferior, but on events like these, I really feel conscious about our differences, and I need a nice dress!

I like both and am vicariously recommending the halterneck as I wish I had such spectacular norks

Have you a decent strapless/convertibel bra?

Thansk, glad you approve!
I think I prefer the white, I am not used to putting my norks on display, and I think I would feel very selfconscious in the other dress. Will go to Phase Eigth today and have a look!

OMG - think I am going to find an excuse and cancel.... There are NO dresses that look good on a fatso like me!! Having a fat day, feel and look horrible. I have been to Next to dry on some dresses, and I dont even fit size 18 sob!!!

It is ours too later on this year, but I really doubt we will do anything special, maybe just a meal out, we are not really "the partying crowd", as you can tell! Here me flipping about a friggin frock.
