Please help me find a black tie dress

I’m going to a ball in a couple of weeks, it’s a fundraising thing, and I’m struggling to find a dress. It’s not super strict on dress code, so there will be a range of lengths and colours, but mini length won’t fit with what most are wearing. My preference is midi length as I get annoyed with maxi when dancing, but will think about full length if it’s perfect otherwise.

Me - I’m tall, size 8, next to no cleavage so prefer a neckline that is no lower than scoop, and want to wear a bra. Could be halter neck or scoop back though. Happy with sleeveless or not. I’m slightly pear shaped. Somewhat in fear of looking middle aged (am mid 30s), so avoiding dresses that are too phase eight and adrianna whatserface. Not really into frills or lots of lace, cleaner lines suit me better. I’m open to different colours, I think I’m officially a deep autumn so black is ok, darker or stronger colours are best.

Budget wise, I’m edging towards throwing money at this now! Ideal would be under £200 but would go higher for something really fab or if I get desperate!

Please any help? Even ideas on less obvious brands I could look at would be great.

Thanks in advance!

It seems like so many formal dresses are being designed as bridesmaid dresses!

Try chi chi London or little mistress, fab dresses for around £70-£85 . I have a few of them and nice fit and quality

Lipsy?

If you look good in a halterneck id go for that as can only get away with if you're slim so looks youthful

I bought a long black one from honorgold. It was very simple and only about 120.

I was in Debenhams in Manchester last weekend. They had loads of evening dresses of all colours and designs.
