Washing Clothes Question

How often do you wash your clothes? How many wears?

I always wash after wearing once but I was told this should not be the case for some articles of clothing.

Office skirts/pants - how many wear before you wash them?

Tops - every after wash surely?

How gross not to wash bras every day!

anniehm · 27/01/2019 07:46

Shirts/undertops one wear, jumpers/skirts/trousers 2-3, dresses 1-2

Knickers & socks - after one wear
Bras - three to four wears
Work tops - after one wear
Work trousers - four wears (Mon-Thurs) unless noticeably foul
Weekend tops, even jumpers - after one wear, mainly because I cannot bear the thought of them hanging around - worn - for a full week until the following weekend.

Jeans .... Isn't there something about jeans not needing to be washed very often?

I wash when things are dirty. I know that sounds a) obvious and b) a bit facetious but I can’t say there’s a standard number of seats for anything (apart from knickers. That’s obvious I’d have thought).

Tends to be:
Knickers, socks, tights etc everyday
Bras when they smell a bit (milk!) or have stretched out a bit much and need to fit again
Tops probably every couple of days unless there’s visible stains
Jeans when I remember or if I need an especially clean pair for going out etc.
Leggings same as jeans
Anything else only gets it when absolutely necessary. Jumpers etc sometimes get washed in order to make the sleeves fit again (bad sleeve rolling up habit!) rather than because they’re dirty.

Standard number of wears Hmm

Socks, knickers and tights get washed after every wear.

Tops it depends - if it's a tight t shirt and I've been sweaty then one wear, but if I haven't sweated at all or it's a looser fitting top, I'll wear twice. Just give them a smell! If they still smell washing detergent fresh then what's the point in washing again. I have to say with tops I've noticed it's the cheaper fabrics that have to be washed more often - new look and primark stuff tend to be less airy so you sweat more.

Bras I don't wash all that often to be honest, they don't smell.
