Quick - what colour tights with a bright pink dress for coolish party?

Don’t say no tights - there is still snow on the ground, brrr.

It’s a bright, fairly dark pink, silk dress. Shortish.

Easy options are black thin but patterned tights, or flesh coloured, either of those would be with black heels or... DD suggests I borrow her turquoise tights and matching heels for ‘complementary’ bright colour. I think I’m the wrong side of 40 for that look...

What are the cool kids doing tights wise this season?
Again, I’m not going bare legged however cool that may be!

Baby pink?
Silver?

Ferrisbuellersdayoff · 24/01/2019 21:10

The black ones.

halfwitpicker · 24/01/2019 21:12

Grey

Somerville · 24/01/2019 21:15

I don’t really want to hint round shops tmr for right coloured tights. Also, in terms of grey/silver/pale pink wouldn’t they look weird with black shoes?
The black ones are the easiest to wear I think.

Kind of like dd's suggestion.

Racecardriver · 24/01/2019 21:17

Not the black ones. Either flesh or turquoise (but only if your legs are amazing).

Sleepthief · 24/01/2019 21:17

Navy blue... black will be too harsh!

BaeBae · 24/01/2019 21:17

Black sheer with line up the back or micro fishnets

Somerville · 24/01/2019 21:19

Could we find a consensus here please? 😂

I do have good legs.

Sorry that sounded really arrogant! Am just in a hurry getting my house nice for PIL and then I have to pack.
I’m half thinking of wearing a boring LBD because then tights are easy. But I really like the pink one. I’ve only worn it in warm weather before though.

Turquoise with matching colour shoes like your dd suggests. I'm the wrong side of 40 too and would so go for that. I think black would look wrong, personally

MummytoAF · 24/01/2019 21:26

Do you have a pic of the dress? May help toward a decision

NashvilleQueen · 24/01/2019 21:28

Purple?
Green?
Turquoise?
Silver or gold?

I don’t think pink or red but otherwise anything goes.

Tootrousers · 24/01/2019 21:31

Sheer black will be great op

Somerville · 24/01/2019 21:31

It’s actually matching teal tights and boots, my 16 yr old tells me. Not turquoise. And describing a party as cool makes it/me sound extremely uncool I’m also told.

I don’t have time to try it on now but might pack every option of right and footwear and do so from hotel room tomorrow.

Navy blue or black.

iMatter · 24/01/2019 21:37

Black. 7 or 10 denier.

Loyaultemelie · 24/01/2019 21:49

Ooh I like teal! However I'm the very definition of uncool so don't go by me

BubblesBuddy · 24/01/2019 21:58

Natural. Or pale grey. 7 or 10 at most. Teal? Just no. Unless you want to be talked about unflatteringly. Look classy - not like a dressing up box!

Somerville · 24/01/2019 22:27

Dressing up box Grin Grin

Don’t look like a dressing up box will be my mantra tomorrow in front of the mirror, I promise. Grin

I think I'd take that as a compliment? Teal with teal boots sounds great for a cool party. Have a fabulous time.

MadameDD · 25/01/2019 16:41

navy blue or grey.

Notquiteagandt · 25/01/2019 16:41

Nude or turqouise deffo. Think black may look a little harsh against the pink.
