And Botox

I’ll tell you which was more painful. THREADING. fucking hell. I almost punched her. But it looks amazing. Feels so smooth. I’m barely hairy at all so I’m stunned

Been threading my face for years, I'm immune Grin
I can thread nasal hair too ha

Mary1935 · 22/01/2019 00:22

Silly question maybe but can they thread the backs of my legs?
The hair is thick and dark.
Thanks

halfwitpicker · 22/01/2019 00:28

Crikey mitzik, concise Grin

GemmeFatale · 22/01/2019 00:44

I want to visit a magical threading salon.

I think my local area is too homogeneously white and middle class for such a place to exist.

Butterflycookie · 22/01/2019 00:48

Superdrug do full face threading for £20

PouchofDouglas · 22/01/2019 01:42

Facelooked ok j think. Was a tenner just for the bottom bit. Agree de make up.

I get my eyebrows done and don’t find it hurts any more than a sting, plus if you go somewhere good, e.g. an Indian beauty salon, it will look amazing.

PouchofDouglas · 22/01/2019 06:38

No doubts on the look. Even for those of us hair free (or so we thought)

But that bit on the edge of your lip. Ouch

Also, it only needs doing once a month and is really cheap where I am, $6 for a tidy.

StealthPolarBear · 22/01/2019 06:38

I've had my eyebrows threaded once and it doesn't hurt. I've had the rest of my face done once, and as a relatively non hairy lady who gave birth to two children with only gas and air I completely agree with this:

You will realise that you were considerably hairier than you thought you were. And your pride in a remarkably high pain threshold was been irrevocably shattered.

insecure123 · 22/01/2019 10:43

Get my eyebrows done... i don't know whether to hate or admire all you gals who say you quite enjoy it lol. I hate every single little second of it! Get my lip and chin done on occasion too...not sure if I could face (ahem) getting my whole face done but hearing how nice your skin looks afterwards I am thinking about it...

watt36 · 22/01/2019 11:20

I always forget how much it hurts. Definitely agree that it's worse at different times of the month. I had my eyebrows waxed recently (was away from home) and didn't even feel it. Years of threading have started to kill my pain receptors Grin

I don't bother threading my lip. I shave the bugger. I can't bring myself to grow it out long enough. I would have a full stache.

Brook1yn · 22/01/2019 19:03

Ah I see Gummy

Sorry, I thought you had been ripped off as you can buy the little razors for only a few £

megletthesecond · 22/01/2019 19:07

RJ yy. I've waxed for decades but this sounds proper painful.
I don't own any make up so I'm happy to give facial threading a miss.

NorthernGravy · 22/01/2019 20:10

Getting my right brow done always makes me sneeze. I’m fine with the left one.

HouseyMcHouseFace · 22/01/2019 20:18

I’d also be interested to know if you can get your legs threaded. Or would it just take too long as it’s a bigger area? I perversely quite enjoy having my eyebrows threaded.

shecamefromgreece · 22/01/2019 21:42

I'm going to have it done tomorrow. Full face and brows but I'm going to have my brows waxed though and maybe my top lip then everything else threaded.
I usually have a brow and top lip wax so the face threading will be a new thing!
I'm now officially shitting myselfGrin

shecamefromgreece · 23/01/2019 12:02

Sweet Jesus that was torture!!

MitziK · 23/01/2019 13:44

Bet it feels good now, though, doesn't it? Smile

shecamefromgreece · 23/01/2019 13:46

Yes once the redness went down, OMG it's gooooodddd!!Grin

MayFayner · 23/01/2019 14:29

Leg-wondering people: get an epilator.

I have had my face threaded and I’ve also epilated it and agree that the time of the month makes a difference.

I only really do certain parts now, as my face hair is fair so not too bad in the main. I look wrinklier without the face hair, it must have some sort of light-diffusing effect 😂 Still have to do tache and random thick patch on each side of my mouth tho.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 23/01/2019 15:01

I have an epilator for my legs. It hurts a lot the first few times you do it but eventually the hair grows back more sparsely. I use it on my tache too - saves walking through the shopping centre with a red face. Stings a bit, mind!
Threading is fab. I go to superdrug and get my eyebrows done. It's cheap and they are very good. Downside is there's no privacy - the whole shop can watch you.

sonjadog · 23/01/2019 15:48

I can't do the epilator. I managed about 5 square centimeters and then had to lie down as I felt dizzy from the pain. Threading on the other hand I can do. Yes, it is agony, but the pain is short-lived and the results are worth it.

HouseyMcHouseFace · 23/01/2019 20:28

I have used an epilator at the beginning of pretty much every summer for the last decade. Each time I’m really pleased with the result then about a week later find the most fabulous ingrown hair. Then I’ll pick my legs to pieces looking for more ingrown hairs and spend the summer looking like I’ve got some kind of awful skin disease on my legs. I’m guessing that I’d get the same results even if threading was practical for legs.

FlorencesHunger · 23/01/2019 21:43

Only had my eyebrows threaded once, painful but amazing results and better than waxing. Woman offered to do my moustache but nope no way, I don't fancy that pain and 2. it's a blonde tash so leave it be. Grin
