Can you help me find a 21st gift for a discerning young lady?

DD2s best friend is about to turn 21 and i need to get her a gift. DD2 had her 21st recently and was given a Coach coin purse from her friends family and she loves it. I am guessing it maybe cost around £40/50? So something in that price range that would be seen as a bit luxe. Anyone seen anything good in the sales maybe? For her 18th i bought her a Longchamp make up bag which she loved to give you an idea of the type of thing. Thanks.

Does she use makeup? How about a really nice palette? Or makeup brushes?

vitaminsmoothie · 18/01/2019 13:35

A Longchamp passport cover to match the makeup bag?
Something from Tiffany, it's all about the blue box I'm told Wink

Do you have an outlet store near you? There's a Coach outlet at Bicester where you could probably find something cool if that's what you're after.

Alternatively, TK Maxx online sell different designer accessories / bags etc - you can't search in the search box for Coach etc, because the brands ask them not to make that possible, but if you scroll through the bags section there's things that come up.

Make up brushes have gone down well with my DDs for gifts. Might look at them. I wouldn't think a palette. They were all the thing for gifts when they turned 18. Tiffany's will be too expensive I think.

Any nice luxe pamper products I could look at? I think she likes to burn the candle at both ends and would maybe like something like that.

My dd was given a lovely sea glass ring for her 18th. If you google there are a few people who make sea glass jewellery.

ApolloandDaphne · 18/01/2019 14:12

Sea glass might be good. We live by the coast. I will have a look and see if anyone locally does jewellery.

A diptyque candle? I'm 24 and love them - they smell so luxurious and last forever. £40 I think!

BumboBaggins · 18/01/2019 14:25

Could get something from Jo Malone - nice luxe brand. Another vote for Diptyque also. A nice set of make up brushes would be fabulous - I would love this! Mac is good.

ApolloandDaphne · 18/01/2019 14:26

Candles are a good shout. What Dyptique Fragrance is nice?

Jo Malone is good too although I fear she may have lots of that as there is one in the town where I live. I suspect her mum probably treats her from there from time to time. I am seeing her mum at the beginning of next week. I may ask for suggestions.

I bought my niece a beautiful silver necklace that I'd had made for her by a silversmith I found on Folksy.com - there are loads of people on there who make really beautiful and original jewellery and other gifts. Most of the sellers are honest but you do need to watch out for people in the jewellery section who buy online cheap stuff and try to pretend they made it. Do a reverse image search of anything you're interested in before you buy it, just in case.

River island hand bag
Perfume

Fusioluxe · 18/01/2019 14:44

If in doubt, scarf!

Laiste · 18/01/2019 14:52

Tiffany is very in at the moment.

Just bought DD3 a necklace from there for her 21st next month.

linetta1 · 18/01/2019 14:52

coach online have 20% off sale prices :)

ApolloandDaphne · 18/01/2019 14:52

What about this?

They package gifts beautifully in Harvey Nicks.

My own DD has several Tiffany items but this is just a small gift for her friend. I don't want to spend more than £50.

The Coach outlet shop at Gunwharf Quays has amazing prices on beautiful stuff!

SouthWestmom · 18/01/2019 16:41

Don't buy Coach if they did, that's a bit weird.

MAC, Clarins, Tiffany all favoured by dd (20) and her private school mates from uni.

elliesm98 · 18/01/2019 17:14

Something from pandora

BumboBaggins · 18/01/2019 18:52

Charlotte Tilbury is a great brand and very current. That set is v nice and looks like it’s in a nice case too. And Harvey Nicks packaging ❤️

I don't understand, what do you mean?

SouthWestmom · 18/01/2019 20:34

I think it's a bit weird to buy the same brand (and Coach only do bags, purses, some clothes) that the friend did. Especially as Coach have a sale on and have had one for ages - just a bit odd.

ApolloandDaphne · 18/01/2019 21:27

I don't plan to buy anything from Coach.

Three pp suggested it, I was responding to them
