Is this still an ok thing to do or does it look a bit naff now?!! Maybe it always looked naff?!

Yeh I kind of think if it feels ok for me I should just do it but with me there is always an element of what will other people think....one day I will grow up and stop worrying about all that and wear ridiculously flambouyant outfits that are decades out of date and be eccentric !!

I don;t do it over jeans but I do over linen pants.

purpleturtle · 30/06/2007 12:57

Don't say it's naff - I'm finally plucking up the courage to give it a whirl!

SilentTerror · 30/06/2007 13:44

I don't care if it is dated or not,I like wrap or tunic style dresses over jeans for an informal look or linen trousers for a smarter look.Great way of getting more mileage out of dresses that may feel too smart for day to day wear too.Go for it!

I like it. And I barely try at all.

janeite · 30/06/2007 14:15

Another vote in favour. My problem is that most dresses are too long on me and therefore look daft. Must learn to sew.

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 14:40

I am wearing a dress over trousers as we speak

huffpuff · 30/06/2007 15:41

i live in dresses/tunics over jeans and i think it looks very casual smart and not trying too hard to all.

In fact we're taking dd and ds out for tea tonight and thats what i will be wearing!

ahundredtimes · 30/06/2007 15:42

Yes I do it, but not always wrap dresses, I mean all kinds of dresses. I have no idea whether its a good look, but I quite like it, is comfortable. Probably passe though, yes.

noddyholder · 30/06/2007 15:43

Don't like wrap dresses at all but tunics over trousers ok although if you lived on Brighton the dress and trousers thing is so over done you would never wear it!

Oh no I don't. Is quite lengthening strangely, with straight jeans and shoes. But NOT then a little cardigan, I did that the other night. Not good.

some of us need some bulk cod.
I did laugh the other day when a schoolyward mother saw my dress over jeans and said 'Oh, Is that the thing these days is it? (She's 35 not 75 BTW...)

Professorfilthymindedvixen · 30/06/2007 17:33

no 100, a little cardi over dress over jeans looks very messy and bulky...

ahundredtimes · 30/06/2007 17:43

Yes Prof and there were WAY too many levels going on, but it looked a bit cold out so. . . .

Professorfilthymindedvixen · 30/06/2007 17:47

I know, I've been there...
