what style of dress would suit me as wedding guest?

Have a wedding in 3 weeks (church ceremony, country house reception)

Due to piling on the weight recently I have nothing that fits me and no idea what style of dress would be most flattering.

I am 5'3", BMI 26, size 12. Hourglass, large boobs (G cup). Completely untoned, hate my upper arms and my stomach is currently my real problem area with a sizeable overhang. Legs fine, age 40, fair colouring.

I'd like to avoid relying on shaping underwear if possible as find it uncomfortable and just find I just end up with a bulge higher up!

I've just got no idea what would be the best style of dress for if not disguising then at least minimising my tummy. I'd rather with sleeves but could always wear a shrug or something. Help!!!

I'm bigger than you but a similar physique and wore this for a wedding last year. Got lots of compliments and very flattering. Bizarrely, I think the model is too flat-chested for the dress.

Hang on, this is the one I got - same dress but different model. Actually think it looks better on this one - I'm nearly 5'5" and it came to my knees.

Id say a skater dress with long sleeves im a size 12 and it does flatter a curvy figure. Tea dresses kinda have the same fit.

Yes, or a skater dress. They work as well. This is the first tea dress I've got on with.

How about a long sleeved or 3/4 sleeve wrap or faux wrap dress? I am the same height as you and hourglass-ish if a touch wider on the hips. And I like to call my tummy "gently rounded." :) Some ruching around the middle also works for me. And something at least a bit fitted, with a waist - otherwise I look like a balloon.

Shapewear...it really does make a difference for me, M&S do a shapewear slip thing that is quite comfy to wear, it doesn't pinch or create bumps as it goes from under your breasts to mid-thigh. Also if you haven't already been fitted recently, a really great bra will do wonders, I know it's a cliché but I'm an H cup and it really does help.

I've just recommended this on another thread - any good? https://www.scarlettandjo.com/products/dippy-hem-gauged-shoulder-maxi-dress?variant=9670319669295

I can't buy anything from Scarlett & Jo because the pose their models all "strike" really really annoys me - irrational I know. Why do they stick their leg out like that?

Sorry, as you were...
