Here.

Needs to be smart enough to wear for dd's Christening next month, and needs to come in a size 22/24.

Quite like this but not sure if ivory goes. Struggling to work out what does tbh!

I'd be inclined to look for something in chocolate, I think. Will search...

mckenzie · 29/06/2007 21:49

the ivory might be okay but personally (not that i'm a style guru by any stretch of the imagination) i'd pick out the orangey colour or better still the greeny/aqua colour.
I love the style of the ivory shrug though.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 21:49

Yes interestingly they call the colour of the dress chocolate, even though there's no chocolate in it . Choice gets really limited at this size unfortunately.

Maybe I could get the ivory one and dye it .

I wonder if the coral option would work? Or how about this, though I suspect it's a bit too long - something more cropped would be better.

JackieNo · 29/06/2007 21:53

Or something like the jade colour cardigan?

JackieNo · 29/06/2007 21:54

Oh bother - I thought the vest was separate on that one, but it's not. Sorry.

JackieNo · 29/06/2007 21:55

Aha - Chocolate one?

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 21:58

They only have sizes 10 and 26 in stock in chocolate on that last one . I too found the coral one whilst you were posting, but I don't think the colour is quite right. Agree that shorter would be better.

This is choc, but I know that I'll get no use from the cami part, so bit of a waste, and I think I'd prefer shorter sleeves.

Bother. How about this?

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 22:07

Can I really be bothered to buy from the US?

size 22

Furball · 29/06/2007 22:09

another one

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 22:10

Ooh - that could be a go-er Jackie! Well done! Still happy to consider other suggestions until I have something in my hands that I'm happy with!

I had a problem recently trying to find a cardigan/shrug type thing for a wedding (as Furball will confirm ) -there seem to be very few around in the High St.

In the end I bought a pashmina which was a good colour match so you could consider one of those if you can't find anything.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 22:12

Second one only available in 8 or 10 furball, but dh is showing enthusiasm for the first, as am I. Been a long time since I bought Monsoon (used to live it in back when I was a 14/16) - is their sizing generous these days?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 22:13

Yes, that had crossed my mind Betty - am just a bit worried about the practicalities of it when I'm trying to cope with cooking food for 40 children, and playing hostess to 60 adults!

If you do go for the Monsoon one (gorgeous colour), I wouldn't do up the buttons - I suspect not v flattering. V-neck would be more flattering.

Furball · 29/06/2007 22:21

sorry about the second link - i just assumed it would come in the same size as the other one

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 22:34

This one comes in size 22 though furball - might order both and see which (if either) fits best and is most flattering.
