Oh the things we do.

Apparently it might make my hair grow.

What stupid things have you done in the name of beauty?

Tried to put magnetic eyelashes on. Big fail.

Ifeelinclined · 14/01/2019 02:53

I keep seeing an ad for magnetic eyelashes on MN. So I guessing they don't work well?

Ifeelinclined · 14/01/2019 02:56

I'm

I found them impossible. I have been a contact lens wearer for 43 years and am used to resisting the natural impulse to shut your v eye when something comes near it.

I was disappointed as I don't like taking mascara off and this seems like a good solution.

Ifeelinclined · 14/01/2019 03:16

Aw I hate that @fabulousathome! I wear contacts too.

My fringe wouldn't stay put so I glued it to my forehead

Tighnabruaich · 14/01/2019 16:37

Cut my fringe with nail scissors. By candlelight. Drunk.

My friend cut her eyelashes off as she thought they would grow back thicker. She was only 12, though.
I have had perms. Many perms. They were all vile and turned my hair to straw.
I trimmed the front section of my hair using a gadget that had rave reviews on YouTube and Amazon. It was a monster fail.

MoggEatMoggWorld · 14/01/2019 16:44

Off topic but fabulous and Ifeelinclined - I’m a lens wearer who hates the faff of mascara and I got LVL lashes last week which has changed my life. My lashes look dark and curled all the time (for 8ish weeks).

These are funny Grin

Pierced my ear using an ice cube for pain relief.

I know I can't be the only one who uses a plastic bag or wraps their head in cling film when using hair dye or treatment of somekind. I went one step further though and balanced a microwavable heat pad thing on top of that because I heard the hair mask works better when it's warm and the hair dryer was on the blink. Hmm Grin

ilovewinterpansies · 14/01/2019 19:16

Ironed my hair with an actual iron. In my defence I was only about 16.

However I used a cotton setting. With no tea towel/pillowcase to protect my hair.

Needless to say my hair burnt to a crisp and I was left with black ashy ends and a really shit "haircut".

Worst thing is that my hair is really bloody straight anyway!!!!!
