sazjaz · 29/06/2007 21:14

If you're going lighter definitely go to the salon because it will stress your hair and they will condition it well for you.

electra · 29/06/2007 21:33

talcy0 · 30/06/2007 12:55

lol.. at least if it goes wite you can choose a nice colour for it...
i used one of those colours with highlighting kit.....twasn't good

lucykate · 30/06/2007 13:16

i dye mine at home. they only thing i would say is be careful of colours that have a lot of red in them. with each wash the colour will fade but as red is the strongest pigment, all the other shades get washed out first so the colour will end up going redder and redder over time. eg if you go for a warm blonde, it fades to more of a strawberry blonde over time.

i always go for a colour with cool tones in it now instead as i've had so many red disasters. ash tones colour better at home. and you should really only go 1 or 2 shades lighter or darker than your natural colour. anything more drastic than that really needs doing professionally.
