Dress a dodgy colour, but flattering shape.

I've bought a dress by Kaliko in the sales. Thing is it's a kinda dodge green colour with cream leaves on it. When I tried it on it was oh so flattering (shape), I just had to get it. Was this a silly thing to do and would you do this?

If it is 100%cotton you could dye it, it would still have a pattern unless you stripped the colour first.

Thanks Alycat . I didn't expect an answer so soon. I hadn't thought of dyeing it. Tip on stripping the colour much appreciated.

If it has a lot of overstitching this may not be 100% natural, so if the stitching is white/cream that may stay the same colour even if you dye the item darker.

Not sure how you would test this.

what's the prob with the colour - is it

  1. objectively a bit weird but looks ok on
  2. looks passable on hanger but strange once on
  3. bad on hanger and on you?

if 1, keep it
if 2 or 3, dye it or take it back
