Fly London Boots

I am on my feet a lot and usually have to buy cheap £20 boots which usually last me the year if I'm lucky before they fall apart. I've been given £80 and can put £10 possibly £20 at a very big push but would prefer to keep it as little as possible. I really want to put this money towards a decent pair of boots and have always coveted a pair of purple Fly boots and have been looking to see if I could afford a pair of calf length ones in the sales but can't seem to find a pair in the £80 budget.

I wonder if anyone has seen a pair for my budget or know of a voucher that would bring them into my budget.

Many thanks.

I got a pair from Amazon just before Christmas for £104 so definitely worth tracking prices on there as the other colours/sizes do vary lots in price.
I love mine.

I bought mine a few years ago in the January sales in Neal st (London). They were very cheap. Maybe only £0. I love them

Fly London dark brown Selk boots in size 5 are currently £84.99 on Amazon.

£50 not £0 Blush

  • You are right as I bought mine years ago now. I have these and these. The second pair hold up a bit better in the rain and unfortunately are the slightly too big pair, the first pair are my favourite looking boots but also the least waterproof. I can only really use them on dry autumn/winter days (if which there aren’t many!)

I got a pair on Amazon before Christmas for just over £80 but had to settle for the ankle length for that price.

I'd hold out and try to finance what you want rather than go for something cheaper. They are so comfortable.

Oldraver · 09/01/2019 12:18

Yes I would say to keep an eye on Amazon as I have seen them very reasonably priced there, though usually in black..the other colours seem not to be reduced as often.

Interesting about the soles and wetness as I discovered mine really need mollycoddling and proofing a lot and wouldn't wear them in snow or heavy rain whic defeats the points of winter boots.

I totally forgive them as they are so comfy and pretty

Back when I was a teenager in the 90’s I had a pair of fly boots very similar to these only mine were blue suede not yellow leather. I loved the little fly print they would leave in the snow on when it was wet and I walked on dry ground.

What about Moshulu? www.moshulu.co.uk/sherry-slouchy-leather-mid-height-boots.html

Are you open to other brands OP?

There are some bargains on the Kurt Geiger site at the moment. Leather Nine West boots for £49, for example.

do they need to be fly. There are loads of purple DMs on ebay for under your budget, and they would last you years

Tanaqui · 09/01/2019 16:43

I love my fly boots and am so glad they have fixed the wet feet issue- I will get another pair!

Timberland are also v warm, comfy and waterproof, if you have any good sales near you (I have done well in Office in the past, for fly, timberland and ugg, in an actual store rather than online).

Ploppymoodypants · 09/01/2019 18:58

Yep I second her doc martens option. I love mine, £20 eBay. Worn twice and so couldn't be returned, but rubbed previous owners feet and she didn’t want to break them in!
So comfortable, go with everything, will last for years and years

FraterculaArctica · 09/01/2019 19:08

So pleased to hear they have finally improved the sole! I loved the styling of Fly boots but gave up on them as they just got soaked and the leather ruined. Will try again thanks to this thread!

RatRolyPoly · 09/01/2019 19:33

Another brand that have similar styles are Blowfish OP. Mostly synthetic leather, but I had a pair of ankle boots from them back in the day and they lasted really, really well. And I'm one of those heavy-footed folks who completely annihilates shoes!

I got my purple Fly Mes on EBay for £45 last year. Nearly new!

Just seen these which may be a good substitute... I have moshulu sandals which have been v comfy.

What about these @DesertHippy? This brand will last for years and they're lovely. Lots of styles but these are Fly like IMO
