Have a significant birthday coming up but I’m not especially bothered about having a designer bag, just a gorgeous one.

I’ve had a tan leather Mulberry for years but it’s so heavy and I don’t know why I’m still carting it about 😳

Must be tan and leather.

I love crossbody but am open to ideas.

Any ideas?

I've just bought this from Joules. It's not as fancy as Mulberry but has lots of space in it and is usable either as cross body or a normal small tote.

I love my tan Darby cross body from Joules. Mine is nice fake leather but they also had real leather ones. Hopefully still have them in (I only have one hand free or I'd search and link!).

I'm not sure if this is significant birthday worthy, but I've just bought a Radley cross body bag & love it! It sits flat, can fit all required items & it's fab for walking dogs as it's not cumbersome & I can easily reach poo-bags! (Sounds glamorous!) Anyway, it's reasonably priced and comes in a range of colours with pockets etc inside! Also just used for a short flight & had everything needed in it!

I bought DM this one from Aspinalls: Portobello Bag

Won’t any crossbody bag with lots in it give you back pain?? That’s the reason I opted for the smaller Mulberry Anthony to avoid carting too much about, it holds purse, phone & keys and packaway bag in case I go shopping.

Have you looked at Manu Atelier bags? I have a Mulberry Alexa which I love but it is quite heavy with all the hardwear in it and was giving me a sore back and shoulder. I’ve got a large Manu Atelier pristine bag and while they don’t look as big they hold loads and are much lighter. Also agree with the poster who said that you might just need to look at how much you’re trying to carry though, I swapped to a backpack for a couple of months but it didn’t really help as I was still trying to cart around too much stuff! Now travel a lot lighter (not so much ‘just in case’ stuff) and it’s made a big difference.

After a recommendation on here I went for a Matt and Nat backpack. It arrived today Grin and I love it. It's vegan but looks like leather and big enough for what I need.
