How much make-up do you wear daily?

Just that really. I was pondering this as I was getting ready to go out for lunch today and thought I’d find out what other women do.
For work and other daytime things (meeting for lunch, coffee, etc) I just wear mascara and fill my eyebrows in. For night-time things, it’s the full works (foundation, eyeliner, highlighter) but with neutral colours - think Urban Decay’s Naked palette. I’m late twenties, a non-smoker and have clear-ish skin with pink patches and dark circles when I haven’t slept well. I feel I need to look more polished day-to-day though.
What about you? What do you wear as part of your daily routine?

Bb cream
Blusher
Mascara
Lipgloss

cricketmum84 · 02/01/2019 21:27

I have weird uneven skin tone and get dark patches especially during summer.

If I'm not going anywhere I give my skin a rest and don't wear any. If I'm leaving the house I always wear foundation to hide my uneven patches, bronzer or blush depending on the season, mascara and eyebrow palette. Only really wear eyeliner or lipstick if I'm going somewhere special.

HildaZelda · 02/01/2019 21:34

Everyday make-up post moisturiser, serum, primer etc:

Foundation
Concealer
(Eye lash curlers) Mascara
Eyeliner
Eyebrow pencil
Blusher
Lipliner
Lipstick

I rarely wear eyeshadow due to stupid hooded eyes. Going out, the lipstick usually changes to something stronger and I usually add highlighter/bronzer as well.

PhaLANge · 02/01/2019 21:35

Ooh op we're almost the same, same age etc, and I get what you mean about wanting to look a bit more polished some days! Except I never wear foundation, I occasionally use a light natural mineral powder type thing along my nose and forehead area but only when I feel I need it due to shine but not often. Foundation doesn't agree with my skin at all for some reason.

I used to wear so much! Primer highlighter concealer blusher bronzer eyebrows, loads of mascara. And then I realised I look so much better, younger and more me with none at all. Just wash my face with water and coconut oil, use a natural moisturiser and then a bit of mascara for a lift. If I'm going out out (rarely!) eyeliner, more mascara, bit of highlighter and eyebrow tidy and aforementioned mineral powder.
I'm happy with how I look. And I never thought I would honestly say that. IMO no one needs all that stuff on a day to day and it actually ages you but each to their own. I do like the fun and creativity that can come with make up but I've never really got on with eyeshadows and lipsticks. I'm always impressed by skilfully applied makeup, there's definitely an art to it.

Trinpy · 02/01/2019 21:37

Tinted moisturiser
Mascara
Cream blusher
Tinted lip balm
Concealer under eyes

I add a bit of eyeliner and eyeshadow for evenings out.

I don't bother wearing any make up on weekends.

LaPampa · 02/01/2019 23:49

Most days nothing at all aside from mosturiser and random red lipstick when I feel like it. Occasionally for nice work stuff - tinted moisturiser, under eye cream, eye shadow, blush and mascara. For a night out same but maybe a bit more plus lipstick, maybe bronzer and highlighter depending on location.

madmomma · 03/01/2019 00:07

Foundation, concealer, power, blusher, brow makeup, eyeshadow base, liner, eyeshadow, lipstick. I look rough without it all, sadly.

goose1964 · 03/01/2019 00:17

I only wear makeup on special occasions, although I look the same with as without

ILoveChristmasLights · 03/01/2019 00:19

None.

Last application was mascara & lip gloss to a wedding 4 years ago.

My Mum told me I looked great at Halloween & I should use make up more often. I had witchy face paint on 😳. She couldn’t understand why I was shaking my head & laughing. It really wasn’t the compliment she thought it was 🤣

I did use to wear makeup, it would have been career suicide not to ‘back in the day’ along with skirts and heels 🙄. Dress code written by men!

I couldn’t look polished if you gave me Brasso, so I’m no help to you!

Titsywoo · 03/01/2019 00:23

None really although I'm starting to fill in my eyebrows more often now I've got the hang of it as they are sparse naturally. I dont wear foundation etc as my skin is good and I hate clogging it up. Bit of Vaseline on my lips too.

chatwoo · 03/01/2019 05:16

I only wear eye makeup: shadow (two shades most days), liner and mascara. Sometimes if I am looking like I particularly need help, I'll apply some Clarins flash balm or Stila one step correct.

I very occasionally wear lippy but usually it just annoys me so I don't bother!

Jocasta2018 · 03/01/2019 05:55

I have two moisturisers - both SPF50 sun creams.
Every day face is my bog standard spf50 and that's that.
I also have a nice tinted SPF 50 sunblock. I add concealer around the eyes with a neutral eyeshadow, mascara, darken eyebrows & one of Clinique's almost lipsticks (darker in the evening).
I'm crap at make-up so that my limit.

Raven88 · 03/01/2019 05:55

0 daily because I'm either study or at work but I do a full face when I want to feel polished.

AC14255 · 03/01/2019 06:15

I'm all or nothing. My evening looks aren't inherently different from my daytime looks, my makeup just changes depending on what I'm in the mood for. That said, if I'm wearing makeup at all, my bare minimum is:

  • foundation
-powder -eyeshadow (1-3 shades) -mascara
  • eyebrow pencil

I do enjoy lipstick and when I'm in the mood, a good cat eye. If I have it, I'll use highligher.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 03/01/2019 08:37

Am mid 40's and lucky to have good skin and few wrinkles. Am pale so prefer tinted moisturiser to foundation and powder. I do sometimes wear primer but not always. I thread and tint my eyebrows so don't do anything beyond that. I use eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner and lipstick. No false lashes or anything like that.

ThePurpleOneIsOverrated · 03/01/2019 11:03

After cleansing, serum and moisturiser with SPF, day to day:

Eyeliner for a subtle feline flick (only just mastered this)
Mascara (two coats)
Lipliner
Two lipsticks mixed together
Foundation
Concealer under eyes occasionally

Evening out:

All of the above, but with a bit more mascara, more foundation, lipgloss (usually metallic), a bit of eyeshadow and highlighter

OhDearBeer · 03/01/2019 11:31

Foundation
Blusher
Eye shadow
Mascara
Lipstick

JaneR0chester · 03/01/2019 11:41

Early 40s here and I only do my eyebrows on most days. Lipstick if I'm looking a bit pale and dead, when I'm out.

Foundation / BB cream, eye liner, mascara is only used when I can be bothered or have a special event not often.

Blush and mascara most days.

nude eye shadow and highlighter if I'm feeling fancy.

Lookingforadvice123 · 03/01/2019 14:09

For pretty much every single day, unless I'm working from home and so unlikely to leave the house except for a walk to the shop, I do mascara, foundation, concealer, bronzer and powder (I use Bare Minerals so it's quite time consuming, with the primer and different brushes etc). If I'm only going to the local shop and that's it, I might just wear mascara, or mascara and a BB cream.

I very very rarely go completely bare-faced, unless I'm really not leaving the house (which only happens when I'm ill to be honest!).

For nights out skin make up is the same but I'll also wear eyeshadow in neutral colours, eyeliner.

I get my eyebrows tinted once a month.

Karmagoat · 03/01/2019 14:17

early 40s and I use make up everyday.
foundation
fill in my eyebrows
mascara
sometimes a bit of eyeshadow
blush
lip balm or gloss (very rarely wear lipstick although I do like a red lip on occasion but it has to be a matte one)

Eleanorsummer · 03/01/2019 14:39

None usually. For special occasions I get someone to do it for me. I'm terrible at doing make up and find it difficult with having a disability.

Eleanorsummer · 03/01/2019 14:40

I do get my eyelashes tinted every month, though.

princessbear80 · 03/01/2019 15:48

I wear blusher, tinted brow gel and mascara everyday, usually with lipstick too.

For a night out I’ll add eyeliner and eyeshadow. Maybe use a bolder lipstick and use lip liner.

Very special occasions e.g. a wedding where I’ll be out all day/night I might wear foundation too.
