Best Tights and coat to wear with midi dresses (New Years res to wear dresses again)

What are the best opaque black tights for winter? The need to be really warm and comfy (to convince me not to put my jeans on again!!)

And what jacket/coat can I throw on with jersey/tea dresses??

I've bought some super warm thermal 180 denier tights from M&S. They've allowed me to wear any of my dresses when it's cold.

£15 but they're worth it so far - washing well and they are thick enough for ladders to not even be a possibility so should last.

Coats - I'm struggling with this too - I think long coats that are almost the same as the dress work best, or shorter jackets (i.e. leather jacket) that finish near the waist. Anything in between can look wrong and make you look bottom heavy/unbalanced. (Unfortunately I need a long coat as I don't have one for this!)

Yeah I agree I’ve got a little biker which will be ok for spring but I feel I need a proper coat, especially if I’m wearing dresses... I need a go with anything throw it on type coat. Anyone seen one??
