So stylish! Are insulated trousers a thing?

I'm not sure if insulated is the right word? I'd like to buy some warm trousers for when I go to the footie - tights under trousers are not cutting it. Can you get trousers lined with fleece or something - that don't look too bulky/like I'm about to go up a mountain? I really want just one thing to put on rather than an underlayer. Ideas? What should I Google and who would sell such things?

Like this? www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-windproof-fleece-lined-trousers-409066.html?dwvar_409066_color=COL58&dwvar_409066_size=SMA006&cgid=IDwarm1393

I've got Uniqlo heat tech stuff and it's really good.

Well I’ve got hiking trousers from Decathlon that are fleece lined but they do make me look a little bit like I’m going to,walk up a mountain.

HundredMileStare · 01/01/2019 19:24

Primark do both fleece lined leggings and fleece lined tights. They are really, really good. I got my first pair two years ago and they're still going strong. A lot of my job is spent in freezing cold factories so they get a lot of wear.

I've got these
www.mountainwarehouse.com/winter-trek-ii-womens-trousers-p17061.aspx/black/

And they are brilliant. Not bulky but so warm, I have to take them off as soon as I get I from walking or I'll overheat!
They are in the sale now.
They come up really large. I am I size 12 to 14 and the 10 is plenty big enough.
Highly recommended

I second the uniqlo ones. I’ve got a pair which I wear for hiking. They’re very warm but unlike most lined trousers they aren’t bulky, they’re a nice slim fit.

Excellent. Thank you for the links. I'm liking the decathlon ones the most, I think.
Just need to find a decathlon near me so I can try them on. No more chilly legs - hooray!

Primark fleece lined leggings are good and cheap.

Shortahhse · 03/01/2019 22:34

Update, and thank you again. Have tried Primark - need trousers rather than leggings. Uniqlo don't have my size. Decathlon ones make me look about 3 foot wide! The H&M ones look similarly unattractive unfortunately.

So, I need to find a Mountain Warehouse to give those ones a try!

I think I'm looking for the impossible - lined, warm trousers that aren't just leggings but fit like skinny jeans! Wish me luck Smile

The mountain warehouse ones are lovely and warm but they aren't...erm...fitted in any way shape or form. They are really cosy though and definitely illustrate function over form!

Someone linked to these on a recent thread about outdoor gear: acaiactivewear.com/collections/technical-wear/products/thermal-skinny-outdoor-trousers-black

OnlineAlienator · 04/01/2019 13:16

Have you tried long thermal knickers under normal trousers? I have some wool ones as synthetic fibres + my gusset = bad

eco1636 · 04/01/2019 13:29

I actually like Skhoop skirts over trousers. Worn a lot in Scandinavia, they are like a coat on your legs. So nice.
