Hair - highlights/lowlights?

Hiya,
I've got ginger hair, and normally get highlights (not reaaly blonde etc).

Had lowlights, looked ok-but,that was 5years ago.

Also need hair cut. Always have it just below shoulders and feathered, not sure what I should have done.

I just had both. Keep your natural colour as a base colour then choose 2 other colours to add in, a blonder colour and a darker colour.
