Am thinking say off-white linen, obv tarted up with accessories

there is NO dress code for this wedding, ts suits but not evening wear or bow ties or anything for the men

don't really want to wear a dress, am not a dress wearer, but WILL obv if need be.

i think you need heels with a trouser suit to a wedding

nailpolish · 27/06/2007 09:15

have you got the suit yet? a quick scan and i found this

fillyjonk · 27/06/2007 09:15

was wondering re heels np

the pictures of linen trouser suits with heels all seem to contain scary scary women

i think my strategy will be to go to m&s and come out with a complete outfit ex pos accessories.

I was at a fairly posh wedding last month and the mother of the groom wore a lovely trouser suit, complete with hat. she looked fab. big loose floaty chiffony trousres etc just the right style for elegant lady in her 60s.

mother of teh bride ( about 55 i guess)wore a short too tight jacket and above the knee skirt, too high heels and managed to make what was probably a very expensive suit look cheap and tarty

stylish trouser suit with lovely acessories can look great! If you are not comfortable in dresses then you will hate the standard prom type / typical wedding strapless dress

SOOOOOO?
what did you get?

fillyjonk · 28/06/2007 15:29

i have a sort of silk tea dress thing

i actually ended up buying from tescos (in posh section, reduced from £55 so must be ok )

it is rather nice, but i have naff all idea what to wear on top. I have a tweedy blazer that matches colour wise very nicely but fear it will make me look like a women's institute type.

am wondering about a shrug/bolero in sea green but can't help but notice that there aren't any for sale which perhaps should tell me something

am debating between flats and heels. tried heels and i looked like one of those 1950s types but this may be the look, i suppose.
