What trainers to go with jeans/casual wear - early 40s

I need some new trainers to go with jeans or casual wear (normally skinny jeans, Hush harem, H&M cigarette style). I normally get New Balance but just wondered what others people had tried and liked, weren’t too teenage but still reasonably stylish. I want black ones and had looked at Adidas Black Forest Grove. I have a pair of classic Converse I never wear as they look like clown shoes on me! Budget under the £100 mark ideally.

I really like Veja v-10 with hush harems and jeans and even dresses.

I like the ones you've linked too

I like these. I have big feet so like to have a white sole, all black trainers look a bit clumpy. Have had black Stan smiths in the past with a white sole. www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/adidas-daily-qt-clean-trainers/de209/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=8015#colour:Black,size:9

Thank you, will have a look at all the ideas. I just worry some trainers are too teenage trendy for someone in their forties.

Cherry I’m short with big feet so have the same issue of solid colour looking quite clumpy but hadn’t realised until you said that going for a white sole helps, I realise all my favourites have had white soles though!

I am not that keen on black trainers for casual wear. I tend to just wear white Stan smiths with everything. Having said that - I quite like those black ones with a white sole linked to above.

I recently got these and my late teenage students have complemented me on them and say they're really cool.....I'm early 40s and don't think they're too young for me?

I have these Nike Internationalist. I love them and they are really comfy too.

I have some Adidas superstars at the mo, enjoying my shell toe throw back.

CountFosco · 28/12/2018 10:04

You are never too old for trainers so don't worry about that.

I'm 42 & got Pumas. I think black ones exist but mine are actually pale pink.,.

tierraJ · 28/12/2018 10:42

Seen a lot of women & girls in black Vans round here, I like the dark red ones

Trying81 · 28/12/2018 11:03

I have the black leather Nike Cortez trainers, so comfortable and look really nice on

My very trendy sister is 45 and is wearing these at the minute. She has also just bought a pair for my teen son as he was admiring them.

MissWimpyDimple · 29/12/2018 08:22

I also have the internationalists and I love them.

Come in a million colours!
